Not crazy about that poster though or the logo....makes it look sci-fi and not a western. Methinks they're trying to trick the general public....

Yeah, the poster isn't what I was expecting, but then I can't think of too many movie posters that have pumped me up much in recent times. The Dark Knight poster series was great, and Iron Man was pretty good, but they are only a few of the ones that sticks out in recent times.

      His scarring does look better.

I heard Will Ferrell plays Hex's dad.

        just kidding.

          Ditto.

God, I hope this movie doesn't end up being about the HEX "Mad Max" series.

As long as its heavy on the western elements, and light on the circus zombie villain's, I'm happy.

If Megan Fox has a nude scene...I'm ecstatic!!

They are trying to fast track Gunsmoke for next year too, with Roy Rogers and a couple of other Western film projects looming for 2011....Things are looking up for gunslingers and cowboys.

On a sad note, I met with a producer today about a different project, and he told me the word on the street is the Lone Ranger film will never get made...They are just dangling it out there, like the Sgt. Rock and Doc Savage films were a few years back. I sure hope this guys wrong!!

I was never a Hex fan but i'm looking forward to this. mostly because of Megan fox being in it. but she is being over exposed in a bad way. not the good way.

Well if you really want to get technical from a graphic design stand-point.....
The "Jonah Hex" logo itself is not very westerny...more sci-fi as I stated. The posters colors are blueish-gray, which would work well IF they were showing Hex in his Civil War duds but they're not....a sepia tone would have worked better IMO. They seem to be showcasing Megan Fox just as much as Jonah, if not more. Which obviously will sell tickets to the drooling teenage fanboys but to me HEX is the more important character. By showing JUST the scarred side of his face it implies that this is more of a monster show (like BK said....looks like a werewolf flick). And yeah he's got a cowboy hat and a smoking gun but that doesn't necessarily imply it's a western. I'd prefer something more along the lines of a Clint Eastwood spaghetti western movie poster but that might not sell in this day and age. I understand that....doesn't mean I have to like it though.

Well said. I agree completely. But I don't judge movies on their posters. That's a whole different arm of the studio controlling that.
