Mon El's new Superman inspired look

Other than the first Geoff Johns/James Robinson collected volume, I haven't really been following New Krypton too closely.

I like what James Robinson has been doing with Jimmy Olsen, I'm hoping he's doing interesting things with Mon-el in the pages of Superman. Not sure what to make of this new costume. Will they start calling him "Superman Red"?

They never should have removed Supes from his own books in the first place.....I've said it before but Mon-El is getting waaaayy to much play for someone that's SUPPOSED to be in the Phantom Zone for 1000 years until he's released by the Legion. The dude has already HAD his day in the 20th Century sun back in the old Valor series. Is that not in continuity anymore? It may have been wiped out by Zero Hour. Even so, I think ol' Lar Gand needs to go back in the bottle, so to speak. Keep him in there for another 1000 years.

But that Suit looks an Awful lot like Superman's Costume on New Krypton... They Musta had the same Tailor.

^ Lar Gand of the planet Daxam.....powers and abilities similar to a Kryptonian....weakness is lead. Old-school Silver Age origin: he meets Superboy who thinks he's a long-lost brother (lead caused amnesia). Superboy names him Mon-El because he arrived on a Monday. Superboy has to put him in the Phantom Zone because he can't find a cure for the lead poisoning. Mon-El stays in the Zone for 1000 years until Brainiac 5 of the Legion discovers a cure. He's let out and eventually hooks up with Shadow Lass.

Thanks BK...I only read Superman off and on...depending who the Artist is at the time. And I've never read any Legion Comics.

Y'dont suppose DC is prepping Mon-El to replace Superman if Warners loses the copyright case with the Siegel and Shuster estates?
