I think they have to cut Routh. I thought the guy made a fine Superman, but the next movie needs a true fresh start and needs to cut any and all ties to the previous films.
I dont want Welling for the same reason...it would bring all the Smallville baggage along, whether it was intended as a carry on from the series or not.
Got to go with someone different. Different music, and different tone (ie--no Luthor and no real estate schemes.) . If it has ties to any previous film incarnetion of Superman, I would hope it would be the Fleischer toons. fighting bad guys with bullet cars, giant robot men...that sort of "hoo haw" fun!!"Crayons taste like purple!"Comment

Yeah, I gotta believe Routh might be gonzo for the next film. Even though I think he could pull it off.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

well , there is one person i would definatley drop and thats the director.....brian singer or whatever his name is....utter useless.
Keep routh....i thought he did a decent job out of an utter tripe of a story.
I loved Iron Man , maybe they could the director from that , singer shouldnt be allowed within a million miles of it.
would like to see some fresh villians , brainiac.
The cartoon doomsday was excellent.
apparently , singer said this film was set between films 2 & 3 and yet he changed the sets of the daily planet , his ice home , his suit ( dont get me started ). If you are going to say its set between , well whatever , then at least keep the sets etc for continuity.
as you can probably see im a big superman fanLast edited by ANTONY-S; Aug 9, '09, 5:34 PM.Comment

I think Singer made all the right choices in his own new "Superman III".
Unfortunately most others didn't."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment

I am pretty sure he was one of the actors tied to the failed projects that happened between S4 and Returns. Even 10 years ago I couldn't imagine him as a good superman. I barely liked him a ghostriderComment

As much as I LIKED "the kid" and the plot that brought 'im in,
if I was a "producer" on SUPES RETURNS
THAT was one thing I would have been AGAINST from the start.
With respect towards Singer and his SUPES RETURNS which I really liked,
having "the kid" in SUPES RETURNS means the super-kid would've had to have been "dealt with" in subsequent SUPERMAN RETURNS movie sequels
which...frankly...is NUTS.
You guys can bring up all the things you hated about SR from here til DOOMSDAY and I'll probably disagree with about 90 percent of 'em (aka MOST of 'em)
BUT
having "the kid" in SUPES RETURNS doomed it from the start I'm thinking."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment
