I kind of like Wendy's outfit but her big eyes kind of bug me out. Hot Stuff must have outgrown his diaper finally and I take it that his spiked wristbands are replacing his pitchfolk. Casper looks like he has bags over his eyes instead of under them.

If it gets the younger generation reading the series, then so much better. Being that I am in my mid-forties and used to read Casper and company when I was a kid, I am not too impressed.

      >Disney doesn't muck around with their characters much.

Well.... they DO; but they don't. Their traditional ones like Mickey have the advantage of being "actors," so that you can put them in different roles without damaging them. Mickey can be a mideval tailor in one, an astronaut in another, an 1800's riverboat captain.... But he was kinda designed like that from the get go; so he maintains a good amount of his core with each permutation.

They HAVE been mucking with the feature film characters, by doing numerous sequels, spinoffs and the like. Which comes across as a bit off, since the feature films are all pretty self contained, and the characters more.... not neccessarily fleshed out; but their roles are much more defined.... so seeing ANOTHER part to the story gets kinda awkward.

But something like the Harvey reboot feels off, like the Disney feature sequels. They're not themselves, but a sort of cypher OF themselves....

      >All this is missing is Poochie.

      Yeah, like that!

      >I kind of like Wendy's outfit but her big eyes kind of bug me out.

AND she's giving the devil sign, just like Dio!

      >Hot Stuff must have outgrown his diaper finally

His outfit reminds me of Poochie.... all he needs are the nunchaku and shades.

      >Casper looks like he has bags over his eyes instead of under them.

Maybe it's mascara? Say; could the three actually be an 80's style hair metal band now? It'd explain a lot.

Went to the Ardenn webpage which only has a blurb for an upcoming preview. They give you this closer look at Wendy though, which makes me even gladder I'm not ordering this. I guess all those years of Harvey doing beloved & innocent comics about witches, demons, and dead kids are over:

        Welcome to Ardden Entertainment

I put the in the link in the event the Preview goes up soon. The only plus I see here is the writer Todd DeZago is a pretty good guy, he co-creates The Perhapanauts for Image, which is a series I really like. Not enough to try hip-hop Hot Stuff though.

Now watch, the freakin' book will be crazy popular and end up bringing big bucks on Ebay, and none of us old fogeys will be able to cash in because we're so mired in our past.

And who or what is a "Poochie"?

HAW! Maybe now we can find out how Casper died. "Maybe he's the ghost of Richie Rich, who finally killed himself after realizing how empty a life of material gain is...."

It's not really the idea that they changed them that bugs me; I'm okay with trying new stuff.... it's that they made them everything else! They're not actually NEW, they're.... well; they're Poochie!

            >And who or what is a "Poochie"?

            *gasp!* This'll help:

didn't you see the episode of Family guy? Casper is a result of Stewie tossing a ball into the street and his friend going to get it

In the episode Stewie B. Goode a Flashback Shows Stewie and Casper playing ball and as Stewie throws it into the street and Casper fetches it, he gets hit by a car and then says he doesn’t care because he was going to off himself (kill himself) on Tuesday.
