superhero movies that were not blockbusters

So last week i compiled a list of the highest grossing super hero / comics movies (domestic BO).

There are lots of under $100 million films

in order of my favorites - those not earning 100mil

    V for Vendetta
    Batman Mask of the Phantasm
    The Crow
    Flash Gordon
    The Roketeer
    The Phantom
    Barbarella
    Hellboy
    The Shadow
    Swamp Thing

I think most people like (to some degree) the top of my list but below are films that a few of you loved but most of you hate.

    Crow 2
    Aeon Flux
    League of Extrordinary Gentleman
    Dark Man
    Steel
    Judge Dredd
Howard the Duck ( yes, I love this in all it's bizzare glory)
    Tank Girl
    Hellboy 2
    Conan the Destroyer
    Catain America
    Punisher War Zone
    Punisher (jane)
    Punisher (Lundgren)
    Barb Wire
    Red Sonja
    Superman IV
    Return of Swamp Thing
    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3
    Crow 3
    Blade 3
    Supergirl
    Elektra
    Catwoman
    Darkman 2
Constantine - this film has no redeeming value - i filed a class action lawsuit to get everybody who saw it their $ back and compensetory damages for the hour and a half of life that the stole.

I did not list straight to video flicks like Man thing

what are your favorite flops? any to add???

The theatrical version of Daredevil wasn't good and wasn't really a big money maker. However, if you pick up the director's cut DVD, you'll see a slightly different film that makes way more sense. It rearranges the scenes a little and adds some extra footage that brings everything together. Affleck still can't act in this, but it's a huge improvement over the previous version.

I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

        I absolutely love Supergirl.

        Terrible movie...yes.

But Helen Slater was the BEST casting EVER...I LOVE her as Supergirl.

Rocketeer and the Phantom were both films I liked and wished had done better. Sky Captain and the world of Tomorrow is still a favourite of mine. Its a Fleischer cartoon sort of come to life, and I wish they had done more!!(Maybe with a better lead actor?)

I haven't seen "Rocketeer" (though I plan to), but I agree with what you have said. Phantom and Sky Captain were both fun movies. Not great, but fun.

DD was not included in this list because it made over 100 million domestic BO

DOH! Can't believe I left the 2 of them off the list - I LOVED both! I think Rocketeer was a well recieved movie but for some reasom The Phantom got panned.

I agree - and most of the "bad" movies have something likeable in them - Helen Slater is Awesome!

Well, and this has been brought up here before, Phantom was great until Treat Williams came into the story and threw great big chunks of smoked ham all over the place! One casting change to bring in an actor who didnt think he was "above it all' and was willing to do more than phone in (long distance yet) a performance, and the film might have done better. Cast a guy like ..say, Lance Henrikson as the dead pan bad guy, and this movie would have jumped way up the quality list. I mean Liberace could have pulled off a more involving and terrifying villian than Williams did!!
