I only started reading The Flash as a kid after Iris' death, but looking at those issues now, I can only imagine how shocking it must have been for the seventies.
Was anyone reading The Flash back then? How did you react to her death?

It seems things like that didn't used to happen to superhero characters, and it probably kicked off the modern age of this kind of status quo changing events that are so prevalent in comics now.
