Blackest Night

I picked this up over the weekend (and got a Black Lantern ring too ). Wow, I never thought I'd see DC characters doing what they are doing. It will be interesting to see where this goes and how it ends.

I was never much for the whole Zombie thing at Marvel. But they got me when they decided to do it in DC.

The thing I'm really curious about is...why do they need Batman's Corpse(or Skull Blackhand is carrying around). They can't use it to raise him from the dead...because we know Bruce isn't really dead, since we've seen Him alive at the end of of Final Crisis.

There is a Corpse, we saw Superman carrying him...but we also saw him alive at the end? It vexes me.

With the idea of this Arc going on,.. Bruce has got to be involved somehow,.. whether it's him,.. a Zombie brainless corps,.. or to show you the Nut Job BlackHand is , playing with his Dead Skull Head.

I'd give good money if DC would just give us back Katar and Shayera Hol and forget all this other mess. And I mean the REAL Katar and Shayera from the Silver Age. It's been long enough now, and every single continuity implant has been voided and overturned. Just go back to what works.

I liked what Johns did with the Hawks though. It DID work. And they mucked it up.

There is just no consistancy with the Hawks. It's an editorial screw up. They need to settle on one odea and never touch it again. This whole business about both of the Hawkman merged into one was ridiculous. After BN ends, we need to have both sets of Hawks back, or start over fresh with 2 completely new characters.

I'd love to see the Hawk's mythos fixed but at this point, I am not hopeful at all.

Now I hear folks saying that "after BN" this and that will be fixed... At little while ago, it was supposed to be "after Final Crisis" !

I'm still waiting (and I am a big-time DC fan) and getting more than a little disillusioned by the current status quo (books late, zig zig editorial direction etc...)

It appeared to me that the Hawks in Blackest Night were just as Geoff Johns left them and he was picking up again...I'm of the mindset that the whole "Hawkman Special by Jim Starlin where everything Hawkman thought he knew was wrong" has been quickly wiped from continuity and they've reset it to Johns' version.

I am sooooooo mentally tweek'in on this book right now... I can't help but think Just How F'ed the Hero's are,.. with Just How Damn Fast Flipp'in ElongatedMan Black Lantern took Down the Hawks,.. & I always thought He was a *****.
