The JLI era ended with the Breakdowns cross-over between JLA and JLE I think...the title was dormant until that 3 issue mini-series with Dr. Destiny (I think it was by Mark Waid? I don't have time to pull the issues). That led into Morrison's run....
Post Giffen/DeMatties JLI/JLE Bwahaha era there was the Superman-led Jurgens JLA and Hal Jordan led JLE (by Gerard Jones). I really liked the Jurgens stuff. A good combo of classic JLA and a little JLI humor, with most of the cast coming over with Jurgens. Then he left and it really went to pot. Lots of subpar creators on the books until they canceled them for Morrison's reboot, leading off with Waid and Niceza's "Midsummer's Nightmare" mini.

Morrison back on JLA would be good, IF he can get a handle on going overboard with all that metaphysical crap.

I would pay DC money if they gave Batman and JLA to Len Wein. He gets it people. Give him some real work!!!

What was the name of the parallel earth story from Jurgen's run? I'm not a big fan of DJ, but that was a really good read.
      Hey! Check out the pictures.

Ah crap, I forgot about Jurgens' JLA...I liked that...but I must have created a mental block of everything that came after....wasn't that around the Zero Hour relaunch with Wonder Woman leading the team with f'ed up Hawkman and the Ray and Agent Liberty?

Agreed! Wein would be a nice change of pace....he's a seasoned veteran and he knows these characters and what makes them tick and what's good reading.

"Destiny's Hand". Man, that was a GOOD read. That had to influence JLU's Justice Lords episodes. Heck, it proceeded Kingdom Come (but came after Squadron Supreme where the earth's heroes took control). Hawkman was so frickin' brutal in that. And it was the classic League. They never broke up. They just took over!

Jurgens introduced the WW led team with Ray and Condor after Superman died. He quickly exited the book, and I think a guy named Dan Vado took over. Then Jones got it, and right after Zero Hour it was WW, Flash and the new "merged" Hawkman, and Metamorpho among others. I don't recall it being very good.

McDuffie's been fired from the book

            http://robot6.comicbookresources.com...ustice-league/

Wein is finishing off his storyline then the new writer/artist will be announced. JLA is supposed to be at the center of next summer's big "event", so look for a big name that can handle crossovers. Didn't really care for the addition of the Milestone characters to the book.

Sounds like he got screwed from the get-go by editorial mandates and most everything not being available to him and off the table because of other people's projects ....complains about it and gets fired. He was set up for failure from the beginning....once again, "Thanks DC!"

I am really hoping the JLA Book with Green Lantern & Green Arrow gives me some new love on the JLA related tittles.

I just feel the New Incarnation of the JLA has been extremely lack luster...
I was reading the JLA book ,.. before the Crisis relaunch of the new series a few yrs Back...., & Liked it quite a bit....

I just couldn't get into the New Book,.. nore the New JSA book Myself.

Meltzer's launch was a big misfire. The zero issue was good, the rest was incredibly slow and dull. I did like John's parts of the JLA/JSA crossover "The Lightning Saga" but that's it.

Really, the only thing Meltzer has impressed me on was his Green Arrow arc after Kevin Smith left. Besides that he has given such lovely things as Identity Crisis and this new JLA.

                  Thanks.

If Wein's issues are well received, maybe he'll get the book. All of Didio's go-to guys seem to have a full schedule.

Been sticking with JLA probably longer than I should have. Not really interesting anymore. This is one of those books I want to like but don't really.
