Yeah but it was sporadic....if anything Morgan Edge was Kirby's greater contribution to Superman's villains than Darkseid at the time.

Funny I never really thought of Morgan Edge as a villain. I still haven't read all of Kirby's Jimmy Olsen issues but I think he was originally a bad guy, wasn't he? Then they kind of strayed from that in the later years and he was just Clark's stern boss?

Right, originally he was involved with Intergang and was an operative of Darkseid. But it was revealed that this was a kind of clone and the real Edge stayed as Kent's boss....However, after Crisis, Edge really became a villain and part of Intergang and the guy paying the bills for the Superman Revenge Squad.

Yeah, those must be the issues I'm still missing, LOL.
And I do recall the post-crisis change. I didn't care for that.

Oh, don't get me wrong. Deadshot is PERFECT for that book, and the interaction between him and the others is great. Which just shows how good a writer Gail Simone is. I'm not sure DC really appreciates just how talented she really is. Her Birds of Prey was terrific and look how that went after she left. I mean, hey, she brought in Lady Blackhawk (who I would dearly love an action figure or mini-bust of!)

What I should have said is that on his own, Deadshot is not a favorite character of mine. Didn't care for him in Suicide Squad. But as part of the Secret Six as done by Simone, he works incredibly well. The same could be said for Bane as well.

That was a very minor bump in the road for Superman's history, Byrne did a bit with the Darkseid in his Supes run, but The Timm-iverse really played it up.

He was Darkseid, FC had to play off the Death of the New Gods and revived Darkseid and his cronies in human bodies at first, but the gods burn out those bodies so they had to keep changing bodies or find suitable ones like Mary Marvel, Wonder Woman or Command D engineered ones like Kalibak's tiger body. Darkseid's final host body ended up being Dan Turpin's before Batman, the Flashes and Superman finished him off.

                      The Joker

Luthor(moreso the Silver Age version up to and including the Pre-Crisis warsuit....never a big fan of businessman Luthor or President Luthor)

                      Brainiac (preferably Silver Age)

Darkseid (although he has been over-exposed as of late...I always liked when he'd pop up once in a while to take on guys like the JLA or the Legion....but now it seems like everyone fights Darkseid.

Deathstroke (again, over-exposed as of late...when he originally fought the New Teen Titans his appearances were few and far between but very eventful. He definitely had their number back then. Now it's just silly with all of his kids running around and his little Titans East team and him being on par with Darkseid, as far as the fact that he seems to be everyone's enemy now.)

Professor Zoom, The Reverse-Flash (the original, not Hunter Zolomon...he did some serious mental damage to Barry Allen back in the day)

Speaking of the Flash, Captain Cold and Heatwave are two of my favorite Rogues.

And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention The Gentleman Ghost, Killer Moth, Deadshot, Black Manta, Ocean Master, Calendar Man, Signalman, Eclipso, Star Sapphire, Dr. Light as favorites....some of them are "jokes" today but they're still favorites
                      Yeah....what he said.
You must read (or read) the same stuff I did.
Businessman Luthor blows dick bad. I am glad they slowly worked him back to the villian in the powersuit.

^ I think they could only take Businessman Luthor so far..once he became President and was booted out of office, there was nowhere to go but retro with the warsuit.

Did the comics version of Luthor's return to costumed supervillainy come before or after the JLU version of the storyline?

So the toon one probably happened first given the lead time on production for the cartoon.
