I'm looking forward to this. I've always like Reynolds "wiseguy" character he seems to play in every movie he's in. Blade Trinity wasn't that great, but it showed he has the action chops to pull it off.

If the studio does want to take advantage of "Reynolds' handsome mug", I'm sure they can get around the disfigurement withe ol' holographic projector chestnut that Nightcrawler and Beast and others have used for years in the comics.

I've liked Reynolds since "Two Guys, A Girl, and A Pizza Place". "Waiting" is a guilty pleasure, although you won't want to eat at Applebee's or O'Charley's ever again after watching it.

The only thing that bums me about Reynolds starring in Deadpool, is that it probably takes him out of the running (pun intended) for the title role in The Flash. He's long been linked to that role, esp. when David Goyer was working on it.

It was Blade 3 That Got him that way... I was watching an interview yrs back with the Dude,.. I guess he mostly just eats Chicken.

Maybe I am out of the loop I haven't read marvel in years but I though deadpool was just marvels answer to Deathstroke the Terminator. can this concept really carry a 90 minute feature or will we get Punisher war zone?

What sets Deadpool apart from the Punisher is that it's an action-comedy where everyone else is the straight man to 'Pool. In Garth Ennis' Punisher (Knights, not Max), it's the Punisher who plays the straight man to all the other ridiculous situaions that happen around him.

Joe Kelly's run is worth checking out, as is Christopher Priest who followed him. Gail Simone's as well, although that didn't last too long before it morphed into Agent X.

I haven't read much other Deadpool. Are there other runs or arcs worth checking out?
