I liked the 1st 4 Flick.... It was part 2 ,.. Not so much for me.
Even Johnny's Storm's Smart Arse Comments & the coolness of the look of the Surfer couldn't save me from disliking the Movie.

I'm debating on taking my son to see this. He's 7, and has seen the other X-Men movies. Is the subject matter and violence level the same as the others? I'm a little leery of taking him since he is more aware of all he's watching now.

Well, Wolverine is violent by nature, but I would say it is no more violent than any of the X-Men films, and certainly less so than Dark knight and Watchman.
For a 7 year old. I would think Sabertooth in the 1st film would appear more scary, this version is a little more wordy

Thanks clemso. I know there is going to be some violence, but they've done a pretty good job of cutting away before things get gory in the previous X-flicks. Andrew is really looking forward to seeing it (he likes Wolverine and Gambit) so I'm glad to hear they didn't over do it in this one.

I'm going to see the 4:10 PM showing with my 16 year old son. I'll give a full review when I get back this evening. I like Hugh Jackman and I've enjoyed the X-men movies (lesser so with X-3, but still good). I'm inclined to think this will be a fine film so I'm going in with a positive attitude. The kids on Herohype are tearing it apart, so that doesn't bode well for the fortunes of this movie or continued X-Men films. Oh well. I"ll give it a shot and report back tonight.

Wow... Where to start. Well, first let me clear the decks of the critics because, in my book ,this ranks second only to X2 in the series. A very well made film that was received very well by the audience we were in today. The 4:10 show was nearly sold out which was a big surprise. Usually any movie during those hours is three quarters empty, especially in Louisville on Derby weekend. Not so today.

I guess the best way to review this film without giving away spoilers is to simply compare it with the other X-Men films. Wolverine has ALL of the drama and action that X2 brought to the table, without all of the preachiness that often bogged down the series. Gambit is a great new character and DeadPool, while only in it briefly, is shall I say, a great opponent towards the end whose "defeat" is not as definitive as you might think. I'll discuss that further after enough people have seen the film so we can talk openly about it.

Wolverine's story is FAR from predictable and has some surprising twists that THIS viewer completely enjoyed. Plenty of emotional moments and plenty of "sweet revenge" moments that will have you rooting for Logan. For those who loved Hugh Jackman in the role, he delivers easily his best performance in the series and will have you hungry for more. The action sequences are very well done and each fit perfectly within the context of the story telling. I found the special effects, by and large, impressive with very few exceptions. The movie is completely fitting for children. The only raw moment would be when Logan first awakes from receiving his metallic skeleton and is...eh...in his birthday suit for about five minutes of the film. There are a few distant shots of his back side, but I didn't find that offensive to younger eyes (It was handled properly within the film). My 16 year old thought it was by far the best in the series while those sitting around me (ranging from mid 20's to mid 30's) liked it quite a bit. Many behind us stayed afterwards and discussed it in great detail, with plenty of high compliments for the treatment . Programming note - Make sure to sit through ALL OF THE CREDITS. One scene remains at the very end. Don't be discouraged by the critics. Afterall their critics and often stereotype these films without giving them any chance. This had very good acting, nice plotting, and great action. You will be at full attention for the 1 hour 45 minute run. A great ride and worth the ticket price.

When the opening came up and Wolverine was there as a child...I put my face in my hand and said,"I can't believe they're ruining it". But I watched the rest, and it's cool to see everyone's origins. Not to give any spoilers, but you'll see Blob. But man, this was the best super hero movie that I've seen since X-Men 3. Iron Man sucked, The Hulk sucked. I had low expectations for this movie, but it did what it was supposed to do. 4/5 because I hated Tyler Kitsch's accent.

I have to agree. I enjoyed X-Men Origins: Wolverine more than either Iron Man or The Hulk.

I just saw it and loved it! Now i'm not a comic book guy and did not have any background info but I really liked the introduction of all of the characters.
