As far as real comic shops go(as opposed to newsstands, drug stores, supermarkets, flea markets, etc), my Buffalo, NY shops were Weird Fantasy (closed down early 80's and turned into a record store called Apollo Records), Queen City Book Store (was too far a bike ride), Grant's Books & Comics(not bad but found better deals) and Fantasy World (put himself out of business in the 90's) for the most part.

I remember Gold Dust & Bailey's...2 of my Best Friends were regulars there...but I don't think Berto has been to Bailey's in about 6 years or so, but I could be wrong...I don't live out on the Island anymore.

In Wantagh, it may have been Collector's Comics it used to be on Wantagh Ave but then moved to Sunrise Highway.

Busy Bee Mall---2nd Floor near the escalator...got many really nice issues there, cheap, before it became popular...I think it used to be called Stinky's.

Yup those always seemed to be the 2 that would escape everyone...

My Mom worked for Play World near the Gardiner Manor Mall for a while, even she couldn't get us those figures!!!

        That would be Fred.

Did you go to any of the Bay Shore Schools or live in Bay Shore...?
Everyone is Entitled to MY Opinion...Your's, not so much!

When I was a kid I went to a store called the Lucky Dragon. When it closed up and I was old enough to go downtown on my own, I started going to the Comic Connection. After that my friends dad opened up one near my house called Brant Cards which I almost bought when he retired. I stayed with the people who did buy from him for about a year then heard about a great store called Alternate Icons. Which is where I go now.

That sounds about right. Didn't they also have a section at the Copaigue Flea Market (the old drive-in theater) on Sundays?

My friend Georges and I helped out. We didn't go to dinner but we did snack in the back room, that's where Frank let us put our bikes.

Nope. I lived in Lindenhurst, about 2 blocks away from where Frank lived with his parents.
