Wachowski Brothers to "Re-Boot" SUPERMAN?

....I hate to say this, as this picture was sent to me by a contact at Hasbro at the time the film was in preproduction....but that suit sure as heck looks a lot like the Lois and Clark version the more I see it. Can anyone tell for sure? If it is, I fear fakery.......I'll try to get ahold of Kirk and see if I can get some "official" confirmation of this (and see if he still has any other pics?).

Wachowski Brothers to "Re-Boot" SUPERMAN?.....

Get ready for a "Black Superman Costume" for some reason the Wachowski brothers feel that "All Superheroes" should be in Black tights . What's happening to Hollywood in reference to Superman; The animated versions (of Superman) have more action and adventure then it's movie counterpart.....and the Superman cartoon (TAS) was primarily for a younger demagraphic, But yet had more "Knock'em Sock'em" then any movie ever had...(except George Reeves' version, which was my favorite Superman) he played a more manly aggresive Superman. Message to Hollywood: You're killing the franchise when you make a Peter Pan Movie more adventurous then one of "The Man Of Steel." In A perfect world.....Peter Jackson would've made the Re-boot Superman trilogy.

OH!! Please don't change the costume that will be sacriligeous. Love that Chris Reeve costume.....

I wish they would just move forward wiht another Superman without a reboot, the only thing stopping them would be the inclusion of the kid in the last flick.

Yeah, that's Dean Cain's body. It's a photoshop job. Cage was still ALL WRONG for Supes. You either have the look for the character or you don't. Unlike Batman and Spidey, you can't hide that face behind a mask.

I'd love to see a screenwriter just write a great Superman SPECTACLE that touches on all the classic Superman elements, and get a good director to translate it to the screen. No origin (been done and done great, don't go there) no changes to the formula (no Super-kid, super-stalking, etc), just Superman vs some cosmic menace to save the Earth, Universe. Put that on screen. It really hasn't been done. Lex has. No Lex. If you have to have him, he's moving things in the background.

I'm torn. I hated the Matrix (I know I'm in the minority) but thought they handled "V for Vendatta" quite well, so I'll keep an open mind.

I liked the first Matrix a lot, but the sequels were bogged down in half-baked philosophy about man and consciousness and the nature of being and all that crap. If I want philosophy, I'll go to the library, but when I go to see the Matrix, I want explosions and kung fu and bullet time.

Speed Racer was pretty, but it was ridiculously stupid, too, so I'd rather the Wachowskis stay far, far away from my favorite character, even if those crappy Matrix sequels had some nice Neo flying effects that would be perfect for Superman.

I'd rather see Zack Snyder take over. I'm glad Bryan Singer's out. He and his screenwriters brought a sensibility to the franchise that I just didn't care for.

I would like just to see the concept and what direction they would take......Please no reboot with his origin the Donner Superman nailed that. A Superman that goes all out and Fights would be nice to finally see on the big screen......

It's an interesting idea, and not without precedent since that's essentially what they did with the '89 Batman movie. But I think most of the older fans nowadays are familiar with the late 70's/early 80's Superman comic, which was essentially a reboot meant to modernize the character. (Y'know, the ones where Clark works for a tv station instead of a paper....) So the real old school Supes might seem weird to a current audience. It might ALSO feel like they were "ripping off Batman."

That've been humming and hawing about that for DECADES now. 'Course the current trend is for superheroes without the tights. (Thank you, "Unbreakable." *PFFFTH!*) Which is a real bad idea, since it's one of the staples of the genre. Superheroes without tights is like a Japanese giant robot cartoon without a giant robot....

AMEN BROTHER! Hmmmm.... someone saying something bad about the X-Files, and now the Matrix? *sniff* I loves you guys!

And while I agree that Cage isn't the best pic for Supes, I gotta admire the stink he raised over all the weird changes they wanted to make. Maybe they should have made him the PRODUCER....

I feel the same way.

I like a lot of what Mr. Cage has done, but he's NEVER been Superhero material, much less cut out to be THE Superhero (yeah, Hector, I called Supes THE Superhero!). However, he is a comics fan so he knows what's up and despite the fact that he really wanted to be Supes, when push came to shove, he did the stand up thing. I respect him for that.

It's a shame Singer turned another re-boot down, only because there's probably no chance of seeing Routh back as Superman now. I thought he suited the part really well; especially as Clark.

As for the Wachoski brothers; well, they are way overated. They got lucky with the Matrix (it was good but not that great imo) and they haven't struck oil since.

It's not luck when you make the PERFECT Movie. As for the sequels...I agree...they lost it!

I didn't catch the movie until it was on HBO(I think?) last Summer and while I didn't particularly like or dislike the movie (which is a bad thing when it comes to a Supes movie), I thought Routh was good in the role. So much about the movie could have been done better, but I do feel Routh is deserving of another shot in a better Supes movie.

The Wachowskis don't seem like a bad choice. They really need to have a villain who can go toe to toe with Supes. Who doesn't want to see Supes throw down with Darkseid?

BTW,.. the More I think about it,.. the More I can not wait to see another Superman Movie, where Half the Movie is Based on Superman Growing up Again. Tell me when Part 2 Comes out, if I am still around.
