The proposed Wachoski brother/sisters trilogy sounds like a winner, Except can we skip the birth of SUperman. Do we really need that again??

Would it really KILL Hollyweird to watch the Fleischer Cartoon version, the first 2 Christopher Reeve movies???

          Combine the two...done!

            ^^^Amen!
I still think any Superman film should be set in the late thirties and rely heavily on the Fleischer stuff for the tone of the movie! Filmed in a kind of a Sky Captain meets Sincity kinda cinematic style.
(The makers of the last film definately saw the first two Reeve movies.)

I'll diagreee about the tone I think it's time to stop making comic book cgi set films. it worked for Sin City but the others were too much. Superman doesn't have to be a period piece. I LOVE the fleisher/famous shorts but these use the far less powerful superman of the day.

and just to be clear when I say luthor I mean a silver/bronze age comic or legion of doom style one (not a criminal mastermind Gene hackman/or Michael bell/Clancy Brown/Micheal Rosenbaum evil business man with a grudge). The mad scientist luthor hasn't been done yet in film and he is due.

Sadly most of the Superman villians really don't hold up well against his power to support a 90 minute film. Even the Byrne Reboot superman is too powerful for most of his "rogues gallery"

Those guys are pretty inconsistent. Can't really say how I feel one way or another.

Captain, please post that Cage as Superman pic!

I never had much luck posting pics here Chris...at least on the old board, so I kinda gave up trying. I sent a copy to someone here who has better luck with that sort of thing...hopefully it will be up soon?

In the meantime, if you or anyone else who wants to see it, pm's me with your e-mail, I'll be glad to send it to you.

Thanks for the pic! Here it is. He actually doesn't look that bad.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

If they had gone ahead with the Cage/Burton film version, I would think they probably would have/should have made some further alterations to the suit, like going with a smaller S symbol like Chris Reeve's...or maybe even George Reeves' version so that Cage thin physique isnt so noticable. This version of the symbol darn near wraps around him. I do like the darker blue color. Not sure about the square belt buckle...not a big deal I guess?
I have been told by the person who sent me this picture that the cape had formed shoulder pads, or guards I guess, built in that held the cape out wider...You can make them out in the picture, but they arent as severe(ie: sticking straight out) as I was told they were meant to be.
.....I never noticed this before, but in studying the picture, it appears he has some kind of fake chest piece on as well.....you can see the edges of it sticking above the neckline of the uniform....at least I think thats what that is?

....I hate to say this, as this picture was sent to me by a contact at Hasbro at the time the film was in preproduction....but that suit sure as heck looks a lot like the Lois and Clark version the more I see it. Can anyone tell for sure? If it is, I fear fakery.......I'll try to get ahold of Kirk and see if I can get some "official" confirmation of this (and see if he still has any other pics?).

Man, Superman dodged a bullet there. yikes. Captain, I do agree with your ideas on a 30's style Supes movie, just not the Sin City style. Sky Captain I'm ok with and the guys that did that movie would be perfect for a Superman movie.

If you were freakin' out from the more than passable Burton/Keaton movie
releases, you seriously must have been having major bouts of
"freak out" for the NEXT two (---the Schumacher movies).
