    Final Crisis #7 (SPOILERS)

    Ok.
    Got the book.

Is it just me or is this one confusing? What is real, what is not.

Anyone have an idea how or what is going on?

    From what I gathered...
    Aquaman came back.
Batman is in the stone age.
    Martian Manhunter is momentarily dead.
The average DCU citizen is now aware of the existence of the multiverse.
    Darkseid committed suicide.
The New Gods are reborn again but in Apokolips and in another universe (So I guess Darkseid's suicide won't last long at all).

    Ok.....

Anyone have any other clue? This thing is confusing. I have shown it to three other people who are avid comic readers and they all agreed that is was odd and did not make sene.

Captain Carrot and the Zoo Crew?

I want my ****ing money back! This series was a complete waste and pure garbage. I have not seen DC pull a stinker like this in a long time!

Thankfully, they have the "Johnny DC" line. Otherwise, DC would be a complete waste of time, in my humble opinion.

Hopefully, they will keep their durned dirty pawz off of that.

Lately, I find I can spell it one of two ways: D-I-D-I-O or M-O-R-R-I-S-O-N

but now it's over, let's see how they "recover" from this and move on. if we had to suffer through that to get the original Aquaman back. and hey what's wrong with Captain carrot?

i think we need a short break from universe shaking crisi in both Marvel and Dc, and back to some good old hero/villian smackdown.

marvel is blurring that line too much now, i liked the original Thunderbolts redeeming themselves but now the Dark avengers is just dumb.

I feel that the reason Nobody understands this Series,.. is because they are literally trying to Cram 50 different SuperHero's or more's Story in a 7 issue book & each book is 30 Pages..

It seems that imo this book should have Actually had a 12 issue run or More.

I am actually just now Making my Way threw the series..., I am on issue 6,.. about half way threw. I feel as if I am missing something, not following CountDown,.. & not picking up any of the Tie-In's, But the Legion of 3 Worlds or whatever, does interest me.

I dislike some of the Key Story in the book...
I am not too keen on Barry comming back in the book. I mean,.. to bring him back in a story like this one,.. where way too much else is going on, seems a bit lack luster. I guess this will be corrected with Flash ReBirth ?

When the Hell did Ray Palmer show up ? & Why's the Dude hanging with the other Atom,.. working for Max's Omac Project ? & Montona,.. why did they Kill the Origional Question ? Seems stupid.

So the "Gods" come to earth, & they need Hosts to walk the Earth. Why ? Darkseid & Kalabak Never had an issue with this before,.. I think the Idea is stupid.

& They Bring Back Kalabak as a Flipp'in Talking Tiger ??? With a "Gang of Tiger thugs" ??? & Then Tawny Kill's Kalabak & Kalabak's Cronies jump ship & get behind Tawny ? .. I dunno,.. if one character shoulda Died,.. they shoulda Ripped Tawny Apart.

So Desadd was in control of Mary Marvel's Body then,.. Ok..
We scene the WW sorta Tranformation to evil,.. what about the other 3 chicks running around with her. Catwoman, BatWoman & Giganta.. So when did that all Happen ?

Why is Mr. Terriffic THE "WHITE KING" ? Come on,.. I dunno if I even wanna know.

So,.. Mr. Miracle is Asian Now Huh ? Ok,.. & He has is own Asian Rip off JL Squad ok... Now these guys are from a different Earth, right ? .. I guess I missed that.

Where the Hell is PowerGirl ? Just not even Present in the Story ? When she was such a Big part of the Last one ? .. Stupid.

Superman just takes off from the Book,.. because of his Wife,.. OK... then he reappears with Brainiac 5 in the Future,.. OK... I guess thats a Tie-in book. Whatever.

Those are my complaints so Far....

I do like the Jordan / Green Lantern little Story.
Killing Orion seems a bit much,.. but was actually entertaining to me, .. with the Whole Bullet thing traveling in time to the past..
Green Arrow's & Black Canary's arc is cool to me. ..
DarkSieds Mind control,.. & the Whole Idea of the Earth being tranformed into Hell,.. I get that,.. Kinda like that part of the story too.

Thats what I got so far...

Agreed....a big event and it's shoe-horned in....much like everything else in this book. Morrison works off such high-concept ideas that this book really did need more pages or more issues or both. A LOT of stuff seemed to happen off-camera and we're just left to figure everything out.

When the Hell did Ray Palmer show up ? & Why's the Dude hanging with the other Atom,.. working for Max's Omac Project ?
I think they brought Ray back because the experiment with the other Atom just wasn't cutting it....

& Montona,.. why did they Kill the Origional Question ? Seems stupid.
I think the original Quuestion died in "52". To me Montoya is a bit-player and I don't see why they felt it necessary to make her the Question.

So the "Gods" come to earth, & they need Hosts to walk the Earth. Why ? Darkseid & Kalabak Never had an issue with this before,.. I think the Idea is stupid.
Morrison launched this idea with his "Seven Soldiers" series of mini-series a few years back....obviously this is all supposed to be part of some great big tapestry and we're supposed to ooooh and aaaah over his cleverness.

So Desadd was in control of Mary Marvel's Body then,.. Ok..
We scene the WW sorta Tranformation to evil,.. what about the other 3 chicks running around with her. Catwoman, BatWoman & Giganta.. So when did that all Happen ?
                Off-camera

Why is Mr. Terriffic THE "WHITE KING" ? Come on,.. I dunno if I even wanna know.
He's the White King of "Checkmate". Alan Scott, the Golden Age Green Lantern was involved with Checkmate also but I don't remember his rank. I think this was part of the fall-out when Max Lord, the Black King, was killed.

So,.. Mr. Miracle is Asian Now Huh ? Ok,.. & He has is own Asian Rip off JL Squad ok... Now these guys are from a different Earth, right ? .. I guess I missed that.
Nope he's black and he's Shilo Norman, the 2nd Mr. Miracle. He was accidentally colored white in a few issues. Supposedly he'll be color-corrected in the trade.

The Japanese team is from "this" earth....they were introduced in one of the earlier issue s of "Final Crisis" but supposedly they've been around for awhile. Again, another of Morrison's "high-concepts" that probably need more than a couple of panels devoted to it. I'm sure DC is hoping someone will pick up on these characters and launch a series down the road.

Where the Hell is PowerGirl ? Just not even Present in the Story ? When she was such a Big part of the Last one ? .. Stupid.
Didn't you see here standing off-camera?

Superman just takes off from the Book,.. because of his Wife,.. OK... then he reappears with Brainiac 5 in the Future,.. OK... I guess thats a Tie-in book. Whatever.
Yeah that was the "Superman Beyond" two-part mini-series

Those are my complaints so Far....

I do like the Jordan / Green Lantern little Story.
Killing Orion seems a bit much,.. but was actually entertaining to me, .. with the Whole Bullet thing traveling in time to the past..
This was probably one of the few things that actually made sense in this whole series

DarkSieds Mind control,.. & the Whole Idea of the Earth being tranformed into Hell,.. I get that,.. Kinda like that part of the story too.
Yeah but I think the whole Anti-Life Equation being e-mailed to everybody was lame...talk about SPAM!

                  Yeah,

To tell an epic ComicBook event riddled with way to many Holes in the Book,.. seems a bit stupid, if you ask me. I guess sure being a Reader with a Vast Imagination, somethings like say What WonderWoman or Powergirl look like Nek'ed sure,.. I can somewhat have an Imagination for that,.. but come on,.. half this book just keeps you Guessing.

I guess thats why I like the Multi colored Lantern Story,.. or GL Rebirth or even the Sinestro's Corps war..., They all are just really well told Stories. Period.

I think Morrsion's seven Soldier Concept Blows. & DarkSeid & Kalabak & Whoever don't need to take on earth Forms whatever.

& The Black/Asian Miracle & his Squad of D rated Asian Super Hero Rip off's are lame.

I also think that the Concept of Any SuperHero's working for or with CheckMate & the Omac Project,.. after what Happened to Ted Kord, is a Slap in the Face to the character & everything "Hero" Stood for. I don't give a Damn if Max isn't there because WW ripped his head off.. They should still be fighting these Guys imo.

                  White King. Very "Origional" lol.

I was wondering Why it seemed that Alan Scott,.. was the spokes person for the Super Hero's,.. I guess I now Know.

& The Anti-Life Equation was Spam... But thats just a New Twist Idea,.. on what would happen at the End of Day's so to speak. I like all that Nonsense,.. I think it's neat. The Human race is so Consumed by the Internet & TV/Cable ... it makes sense to me,.. & is actually one of the or if not Only real great Concept in the book. imo.

The Super Young Team is getting a series or mini I forgot which. They aren't really that lame when you take them in the context of Japanese youth culture that likes to emulate a lot of western fads. Think of superhero-ing as one more fad they've picked up.

I'm not certain why Barry Allen came back for this crap (or even how he came back). I don't get what purpose it served, Wally West could have done just as well doing whatever they did with the Black Racer/Black Flash/Death guy (yeah, fuzzy on that too). Hopefully Geoff Johns will make sense of it in the new series. Can't say I'm disappointed, Barry is the best Flash, and I really HATE the whole Wally's half-grown kids thing! But I think they just wanted to do it so they shoved the concept into this train wreck hoping that since nothing made sense anyway they could sneak it through and fix it up later. Same goes for the Aquaman reappearance out of nowhere, after announcing he would be back in the Black Lantern series, then this happens out of the blue. Lame, these guys deserve better handling.

Morrison has said he doesn't like or understand Wonder Woman, so he basically stuck her in the dog suit and forgot her. Apparently he has an issue with women, as almost all the DC heroines in this series were treated pretty badly, especially Mary Marvel & Supergirl. Seems like the more innocent they are, the more depraved Morrison felt he needed to be. Sicko.

The whole Mr. Terrific as White King plays out because Checkmate's hierachy is based on the game of Chess, there being a White King & a Black King, plus Queen, Bishop, Rook, etc. The White side of Checkmate is planning and decision making, the Black side operations (as in Black Ops). After Max Lord did what he did, Checkmate was reorganized and the super-heroes were added to keep it in line. The first White King was Alan Scott, but he gave it up in favor of the super-intelligent Mr. Terrific.

Shilo Norman as Mr. Miracle was actually around in the original series from Jack Kirby, so that earns him a bit of a pass in my book, I'd still prefer Scott Free & Big Barda though.

The Super-Young team, the female Question, new Blue Beetle, new Atom all stem from Dan Didio's idea that the DC Universe needs more diversity, and of course the way to do that was to kill good heroes and give their names to new people. Obviously hasn't worked, so now DC went out and bought the Milestone characters as a way of creating "instant diversity". Of course, we now no longer have great charcters like the Vic Sage Question, but hey, so long as DC gets to look politically correct.

The odd thing is, the Vic Sage version of the Question is very popular outside of the comics, after him appearing in JLU the cartoon. Great character as the JLU conspiracy nut, Fox Mulder to the extreme. Would have been a great comic for somebody like Warren Ellis or Ed Brubaker to write. And now he's available as a number of action figures. More short-sightedness on DC editorial's part, they have a popular character who they killed off and can't capitalize on. Ditto the Ted Kord Blue Beetle, who's suddenly on TV and in toys as well. Editorial used to take care of these characters, even if they weren't being used, just so they would be ready in case this sort of thing happened, but now it's kill 'em all and let somebody else sort it out down the road at DC.

This is a "review" I posted on another comic forum.

"Didn't see the thread until the next morning. Don't know if you all will look to the thread for more comments, but in the interest of adding to the noise I'll go ahead and add my comment here. I really enjoyed FC 1-6. I felt that Morrison captured a heavy sence of dread. A feeling of being pulled, squeezed, pressed toward an inexcapable point of no return. When we get to the point in FC 7 where Supergirl and Wonder Woman are telling the story to kids waiting to be "put to bed" um "getting ready for cold storage", the past tence narration just killed all the tension Morrison had built into the story. After that point the story should have been called Superman Beyond #3. And even then, if your going to bring 52 Supermen from 52 different universes together, USE THEM. Friggin do something with them. We see them heat vision Ultraman & Mandrakk, and later use GL generated chains to pull the 52 worlds back into symmetry, but that's it. 52 MF'n Supermen and we get 2 or 3 panels and a splash page.
On the positive side, even when Morrison misses the mark his stories are filled with so many juicy ideas that they make up for any unrealized goals in storytelling. One in particular is Superman singing Darkseid to death. The more I think about that the more awesome it is."

The more I think about FC the more I like it. However, I have no desire to read it again. What a mind &@%*!

This whole thing gives me a ****ing headache. I just wanted a good story not a conspiracy plot with a million alternate endings and weird takes on good DC characters.
