I have purchases boots of all the filmations over the years because I assumed they would never come out - only some were ever released on vhs and WB seemed to be focusing on the modern DACU relases. Wb never even got around to finishing the Superfriends releases although with galactic guardians and LSPS they are pretty close.
I am stoked that they are finally releasing some of them but based on the volume size there will be another superman, and 68 bats would be 2 volumes, then I would expect them to release JLA, flash, Gl and hawkman, and titans as seperate volumes to gouge us that much more.
The release of galactic guardians is impressive since Adam was the voice of batman for itComment

I don't think they will release the JLA/Titans shorts seperately. There were only 3 episodes of each feature. But even in one set, 3 episodes of 6 features (JLA, Titans, Flash, GL, Hawkman and the Atom) is a bit of a slim release when each toon is only 7 minutes long. I hope they get around to these, but I was really hoping they'd find a home with Aquaman. I hope WB can find a place for them.

e2 rob,
yeah you're probably right about the JLA and titans. I guess I have gotten cynical after the late 90's early 2000's when wb realeased SO MANY versions of Batman the animated series, Justice league, and Batman beyond, before the current sets were released in season order that i assume they are looking for new ways to sucker someone.
HMM wonder if Challenge of the Superheroes ever gets released. That show was GOLD (well maybe not)Comment

Earth 2 chris
That is challenge of the superfriends the animated which yes is awesome and I have it. I was talking about the Live action version legends of the Superheroes sorry for the confusion. It was shown on NBC i think, 2 specials had the first post Batman 66 reapearance of Adam and Burt as batman and Robin (a year or so later they voiced over the filmation), GL. FLash, Shazam (but not the ones from the live action series), Lurch as Solomon Grundy, Frak gorshin as the riddler, Black Canary and the huntress (odd choice for the timeframe since she was a second story in wonderwoman)
it was like a really cornball JLA meeting even the superfriends would cringe to attendComment

The Legends of the Super Heroes (The Challenge and The Roast) is not out on official DVD from Warner's, and I wouldn't hold your breath. I could see this maybe being put on a complete Super Friends box set, as a bonus feature, but that's it. I doubt DC/Warners wants this out there. Its kind of like the Star Wars Christmas Special. They act like it never happened.
I have a boot of it, and it is pretty darn bad. Aside from seeing West, Ward, and Gorshin back in character, and seeing the other characters in costume, it is pretty awful. The "humor" isn't really humor at all. The Batman TV series was much more clever and amusing than this.

The Roast especially will NEVER be on dvd officially. anybody remember "Ghetto Man"?? WB isnt going anywhere near that minefield...
