          Fleischer art..?

Check out youtube and search on 'Wonderman'. It's not the Marvel hero but one fighting for truth, justice and 'trying to get his alter-ego laid'..

Don't have a link, but the shorts are pretty funny. There's only one posted now, but they're all like the '40s cartoons (TV FunLand stuff).

Yep, 2 brothers who revolutionized animation in the 1920's to the mid 1940's. They brought us the likes of Betty Boop, Popeye and Superman. Earlier in this thread I posted a youtube vid of Popeye's "Clean Shaven Man", that's Fleischer ALL THE WAY! Great stuff! Some of the best art I have EVER seen and it STILL holds up! (I'm a sucker for old school cartoons) I seen "Wonderman", "TV Funhouse" was one of the best shows I have ever seen on comedy central, I still horse laugh at the stuff I saw then!

Oh and BTW for "TV Funhouse" people I have a question, "What do we know?"

Batman all the way for me. Sure, he has his demons and a dark side, but that's what makes him interesting. He is only human too which makes what he does even more heroic.

Point made sups wasn't first..... Ancient Norse and Greek Mythologies mean Thor and Hercules been around waaayyyyy longer.
Lo there do I see my Father.
Lo there do I see my Mother and my Sisters and my Brothers.
Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the begining.
                          Lo they do call me.
They bid me take my place among them.
In the halls of Valhalla where the brave may live forever.

Wasn't Falk's The Phantom the first costumed (long-underwear) hero? I dig him!

I love the Shadow & Doc Savage, but the pulp guys (incl. Tarzan) were more proto-superheroes, IMO.

                            I vote for...Aquaman! (Hey, I like underdogs!)

Seriously, though: Batman, Aquaman, & esp. Capt. Marvel are my favorites, but Hector is right--SUPERMAN is the greatest superhero: most iconic, classic costume, signature powers, distinctive origin with a great use of duality on several levels.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

There are only four possibilities to this question. There are only four answers and heroes worthy of this thread.

                              Superman

                              Spider-Man

                              Batman

                              Captain America

You can juggle them in any order based on personal preference or experience. Whether you're a DC guy like me or a die-hard Marvel fan like T3Toys, you gotta recognize these heroes. They are all iconic and define their respective generation's notions of a "hero". I like them all, but Supes defines everything I read comics for.

Agreed. He IS The most Iconic Super Hero Ever.

With that being said,... Batman can still kick his Arse.
