From Newsarama:
Some thoughts and questions....
1) I've always thought they should bring back "Adventure Comics" as an anthology title, so I'm glad to see this is finally happening
2) "Adventure Comics" has such a long and important history to DC Comics I'm a little disappointed though that they're going with the "Issue #1" mentality instead of #504 like it should be...
3) The Legion in "Adventure" makes sense....and they've been hinting that the LSH wouldn't be forgotten after "Legion of 3 Worlds" wraps up (they just cancelled the monthly with #50). I only hope that Geoff Johns is at the helm.
4) NOT very excited about Superman Exiled In Space again....been there, done that.
5) "Action Comics" WITHOUT Superman? Didn't work when they did the weekly years ago (yeah Supes was in it but he only had two pages per issue)....failed experiment. Superman IS Action Comics as far as I'm concerned.
6) So apparently Geoff Johns' stellar run on "Action" and Superman comes to an end if he's doing a Legion book?
7) Will "Adventure" be just the LSH or will we see someone like, say, oh, I dunno..AQUAMAN returning to his former title as well? Gee, I hope so...and it BETTER be orange-shirted, two-fisted, Arthur Curry!
8) They just released a special entitled "Adventure Comics Special Featuring The Guardian". Ennnnh...I hope this isn't a hint at him being in the new monthly...I don't wanna see this clone in the book on a monthly basis.
While DC Executive Editor recently hinted to Newsarama readers that something major was going to play out with Superman in the Superman family of titles, he spoke a bit more in-depth about that specific element and a couple more with the LA Times over the weekend.
For starters, DiDio said that Superman turn Action Comics over to new characters, and in his own book, the Man of Steel will be headed into space – on a trip that some may see as one way.
“In his own book, "Superman," there will be a dramatic turn as the hero leaves Earth and it seems like he’s leaving for good,” DiDio said.” We’ll follow his adventures in space more so than his adventures on Earth, and that’s a big and exciting thing. We’re also bringing back one of the old-time favorite titles of DC Comics, "Adventure Comics." It will be back with a new No. 1 and with new stars but old stars at the same time. It’ll be pretty easy to guess who will be the stars of Adventure Comics if you know who the title was most identified with...”
The remaining conversation suggests strongly that the relaunch of the series will be the home for the Legion of Super-Heroes.
