    Pre-Robin TV series, the Graysons?

Newsarama.com : Robin Before he was Robin

Not sure about this. I'm about as big a Dick Grayson fan as they come, and I'm not sure this would be that interesting, esp. if they make Dick a late teens-rebel type.

It does surprise me they'd greenlight a pilot, with a Grayson-focused Teen Titans movie in the works.

I guess that Super Max movie has the prospects of a Justin Hartley Green Arrow spin-off series dead in the water. Thanks WB!

Now why on Eath do they feel the need to call him "DJ". Stupid!!

He spent his whole life training to become Robin. How can they not show that?

I guess since "Dick" is usually said with a snicker nowadays. Why not just call him Richard?

What th'? No offense to Dick Grayson or his many fans out there but why in the world should we care about what his life was like BEFORE he became Robin? That's what makes him interesting...the fact that he lost his parents at a young age and became the ward of Bruce Wayne and crime-fighting partner of Batman. Everything before that is incidental. After all, it's not like he's a pre-Superman Clark Kent who still has super-powers and is from Krypton. He's just a kid...nothing special UNTIL that fateful day at the circus.

Well, I'd say growing up as circus acrobat in a traveling circus is a pretty unique existence for a young boy/man, but unlike Clark and his powers, there is no connection to Dick's destiny until the Circus stops near Gotham...

                Holy - - - - , Batman!?

having just finished reading Teen Titans: Year One - which I think was a great read, by the way - I have a hard time seeing how this would work. I was disappointed by the Teen Titans cartoon mainly because now in my 40's I'm learning all about licensing and the 'toon wasn't able to feature any of the mentors of the Titans 'cause they were licensed only to Justice League. So, most likely I would assume that Batman, and all Bat-villains are out. Along with maybe all Titans villains. Which could only leave, maybe, Roy, Wally, Garth, Donna, Gar and maybe other Titans pre-powers or out of costume.

On the upside, Kenneth Johnson's version of The Incredible Hulk - which was nothing like the comic book - c'mon it was The Fugitive! fer cryin' out loud! - lasted on the air for five years and is now a classic...

The big difference between this and Smallville is that the main character will likely wear a costume. Oh and the other difference is that Smallville was interesting.

This really ****es me off. They are catering to those people who don't read comicbooks.

What next? The adventures of Hal Jordan, the fearless pilot (before he was Green Lantern).
Maybe have a Top Gun theme. I should shut up because this probably is on the "do list" for these lame script writers.
We have seen enough in Smallville. We watched 8 seasons of that drool before he "put on the costume."

I can't wait for Smallville season 9 or 10. He'll be in his thirties.

"Hey maw. You think I should put on a costume?"

"No Clark. We don't want to lose those lame slow keyed one-tracked mind viewers who tune in that hate super heroes."

Super heroes are what made these characters.

                    'nuff said!

I'm willing to give it a chance. I refused to watch Smallville until it had been on 7 years. It's a great show! Sure, the scripts are generally kinda weak, but it had such great visual style and some pretty good young actors. It ended up being a lot of fun for me and for my kids!

I think The Graysons could hold some potential. Of course, it would absolutely be an alternative view of the DC Universe, but I think there are tons of that sort of thing out there in the comic book world, the movies, and TV. I will watch, and continue to watch---unless it REALLY sucks.

WOW!!! what utter garbage! What next Billy Batson before he was Captain marvel, The Flash before he was Fast. Diana Prince the teenage years, The Wendy and Marvin show?

These execs seriously need to stay away from my beloved heroes. If I want to watch Dawson's creek and 90210 I'll buy the dvd's.........

Can't wait for the pre-married adventures of Aunt May before Li'l Peter came along.

This Grayson idea definately has wavy stink lines eminating from it. I never really cared for Smallville either....especially now that Clarkie must be in his late twenties by now and he still (and correct me if I'm wrong here) hasnt slipped on the bright blue jammies and headed for Metropolis.

They had a pre-Batman Bruce Wayne series in development once, but Nolan shut it down as a prerequisite to his doing Batman Begins....thankfully!
