DC Comics ask retailers to destroy copies of Allstar Batman and Robin

Per The Beat, All Star Batman & Robin The Boy Wonder #10 has been recalled (sort of). Retailers aren't being asked to send any copies they receive this Wednesday back to Diamond Distribution. They are being asked to destroy their copies. According to The Beat "sources close to DC suggested that a printing problem was probably the culprit." ComicList has contaced DC regarding this situation and we await their reply.

Here is the memo that was issued to retailers:

SHIPPING ADVISORY: DC COMICS’ ALL STAR BATMAN & ROBIN THE BOY WONDER #10

    Dear Diamond Customer:

Please be advised that copies of DC Comics’ ALL-STAR BATMAN & ROBIN THE BOY WONDER #10 (FEB080203-4D) may be included in your September 10 shipment.

At DC’s request, please do not place this book out for sale to your customers. Instead, please destroy any copies that you receive. You will be credited for these copies on your September 17 invoice.

Diamond apologizes for any inconvenience this creates for you or your customers. If you have additional questions, please contact your Diamond Customer Service Representative. Thank you

They should destroy the first 9, too.

Offensive language that didn't exactly get blacked out. One word that rhymes with punt in particular.

Ya know, even if it WAS blacked out....does that belong in a Batman comic to begin with? I can't believe how DC hands over the dough to Miller to write this dreck. Miller's lucky people keep picking up this rag to check out the Jim Lee art, otherwise this book would have tanked after the first issue hit the stands.

Well, that goes without saying. Why you think I mentioned destroying the other 9 issues, too?

Yup...guilty as charged. I'm part of the problem...I'll buy ANYTHING Jim Lee draws...especially when He's drawing My FAVORITE Character.
