I was happy with the news. I'm hoping they focus a little more on the super hero aspect of Spidey this time. So even if Dunst is back, she wouldn't be quite as vital tro the movie. I definitely don't want her in peril this time out.

I don't know if it is too late to do it now but I would love if they could break up MJ and Spidey for movie #4, and really build the Gwen Stacey/Spidey love interest until the villain kills Gwen.

I realize that Green Goblin can't do it and they tried to halfway do it with MJ on the bridge in the first movie. Make the audience really buy into the love story and then bump her off just like they did in the comics for a shocking ending for those who have never read the comics.

Like I said, might be hard to pull off at this point.

I wouldn't mind them taking her character off-screen and giving her screen time to Bryce Dallas Howard's Gwen Stacy.

Once Toby and Dunst broke up she did not want to do any more films but could not get out of her contract. Working with your Ex can not be much fun and it showed in her performance.

Personally I don't think they need any more films.

I liked all three movies ...

,,,although it's obvious that 3 was the "weakest link" plotwise...it just didn't
hurt my enjoyment of it all that much.

I just like the tone that was created by Raimi (et al), is all.

A fourth one would really make up for the lack of a genuinely "clean"
superhero movie experience for me, as I haven't had one recently....except
possibly with the FANTASTIC FOUR movie which I...ahem...happened upon a
          few days ago.

Here's hoping a new Raimi Spidey nmovie comes out sooner than later.

The Lizard is an obvious choice since I'm pretty sure Doctor Connors was seen in all 3 Spidey movies.

I think the Scorpion would be a great choice of villains which would tie in nicely with JJJ since he is partially responsible for the villain. Rhino and Electro are a couple of other top choices for me.
Wow. I liked Spiderman 3. So, I guess that makes two people. When I hear about people on this board walking out during the movie and doing whatever, I am sorta shocked. Even though it wasn't cosher with the comic story line to a perfection. I did like how the movie went. I saw it twice in the theater and then I watched a crappy pirate copy over and over until the real DVD came out and I bought it. I guess some people like things that others hate.

THAT sentiment being the source of many debates on these movies on these
boards---heck---we even get fired up on things that some "like" and others
                think are just "okay".

That being said, you'll never see me trashing SPIDERMAN 3 to any large extent.

You won't see me saying it was "great" either

Frankly, in spite of all the "superhero movie" conversation/debate I've taken
part of on these boards----I'm betting there's NEVER a superhero movie
that I like HALF as much as most of flicks in my top 50 movies anyway.

In fact, at this point, I'm pretty convinced our favorite heroes weren't
ever meant to be all that impressive in movie form. (although recent box
                office has said differently)

To me personally, supehero movie quality is more about "not boring me" than
                anything else.

The tone of the Raimi Spidey movies has had a good hold me throughout
                all three movies...number three included.

So, yes, FOUR is much anticipated---if only for a good superhero theatre/DVD
                fix I can count on.

Sometimes "comicbook fan sarcasm" can make posts confusing.

Are you saying that Toby's proposed flick will tank and therefore
DC movies won't get made...or WILL get made?

And what's the Speed Racer franchise have to do with it?

God, I know. I hate Topher Grace as it is. That is a another story. That guy is such a primadonna, people on the 70's show hated him. He wanted to be treated with special treatment and it was a nightmare working with him. I really wanted to look past the actor and give his character a shot. They did kill that certain part with this movie by allowing tons of actor cameos with their face showing.

But you have to admit, comic book movies have come a long way since that lame *** Captain America movie with the guy wearing a goofy motor cycle helmet and a clear shield. That was bad.

I should probably shut up, I did meet someone on here who was a fan of that show. Ugh.

It seems like Spider-Man 3 is playing all the time on one of the Starz HD channels now.

I still can't help but watch it. I know some folks think that it was a bit too over the top when Tobey was doing his little strut and looking at the ladies when he was infected with Venom. My kids and I still laugh at that scene. It's corny but it works for me at least.
