I cut 3 or 4 styrene rectangles roughly to the size of the disc I want and cut 45° angles on the corners. I then stick them together with double sided tape. This way I can make a few at a time and it makes it easier to hold, especially when working with such thin plastic. I use a sanding stick to shape them. After I'm satisfied with the shape I put them in a jar of mineral spirits to un-stick them from the tape without bending them. I then clean them off with alcohol and they are ready for paint.
