I figured it would be time (and bandwidth) saving if I were to post all my custom figures, props, etc. based on the "Planet of the Apes" franchise in one single thread. I currently have a number of WIP figures in the pipeline (and many more on the drawing board), but I will concentrate on posting only the finished ones here. This may start slow, but I will post updates whenever I have something new to offer.
As I mentioned elsewhere in this Forum, a few years ago I built a Warhammer (1:48 scale) army which incorporated inspired characters from every PotA-based entry in the franchise (all 5 original movies, both tv series, the Tim Burton reboot, and a number of lesser ape-related references). Naturally, it feels logical to translate some of those ideas -- as well as my decades-long love of the Apes franchise -- into 1:9 scale.
Cornelius gives this idea Two Opposible Thumbs Up.

... hardly an Earth-shaking custom, but that figure made use of a spare Chimp Head and a Fonzie body that has serious neck/shoulder damage. I used heat to fuse the shoulders and recreate a neck hole that would hold a head. Then I abraded the backs of the hands (scraped sideways with a modeling saw) to create "fur" which I then painted (sloppy painting to be retouched later). I also colored in the fingernails for a more satisfying Ape Effect, although you cannot see these in the photo. I had an entire extra Chimp costume that itself required repairs (sewing the detached chest glyph-flap), and my Chimp Army has increased its numbers by +1, literally by recycling several otherwise "throwaway" elements.
