In my Customizer of the Month Interview back in February of 2007 I was asked the following question:
"What is, in your opinion, the biggest "hole" in Mego's original lines. (what figure or figure line is missing that should have been done)."
I thought long and hard about my answer and this is what I said: "...if I had to pick a figure, or figures, I would have to point to the complete exclusion of any X-men figures. I am not a huge X-men fan, but it seems that the Wolverine led team coincided perfectly with Mego's golden era. It would have been a perfect and most of all timely fit."
Sometimes I wonder if the creation of X-Men 2nd Genesis figures by Mego could have saved the line . Or, at the very least, prolonged it. Instead of Isis and Teen Titans in 1976 don't you think Wolverine, Storm, Colossus and the rest of the team would have made a better choice? And brought about better sales? Oh well, perchance to dream.
So, here we are in 2013, some 35 years later and I present to you "what could have been". I present to you: The All-New, All Different: X-Men
Colossus is built on a ZICA body with Mego Tin Man hands; head enlarged from a Toy Biz Colossus figure and cast in metallic silver; suit and paints by me.

Thunderbird is built on a Mego T2 body; head enlarged from a Toy Biz action figure; Castaway Toys boots; suit and paints by me. Artistic license alert: I left the fringe off his boots because I don't think Mego would have added them. I also made his skin pink because that is how I found him to be drawn most of the time in the comic books.

Storm is simply a Famous Covers Storm converted to a Mego using an Uhura body and The Kenn Reul "How to Convert a ToyBiz Famous Covers into Mego" method I think she came out great! Thanks Kenn. Miss ya!

Sunfire is built on a red-handed Mego T2 body; head enlarged from a Toy Biz action figure and suit and paints by yours truly.

Here they are making their debut

And, here they are joining forces with my custom Wolverine and Professor X (previously submitted).

One of my favorite covers and stories:

I hope you enjoy my custom X-Men as much as I do, and as always, thanks for looking.
Peace, Love and Megos,
Austin
PS Banshee and Nightcrawler coming soon AND the X-Men Danger Room playset!!!!
