As a man who dabbles considerably in painting, enyawd72, I gotta tell ya, yer GG knocks it out of the proverbial ballpark. Listening to you talk about the arduous process of several coats reminds me of when I'm painting my ceramic pieces: in order to achieve the right effect, usually several coats of paint are required, then varnishes, then washes, then more paints! And you did a mind-boggingly great job with all the detail work on his face? What size brush were you using? ought20? ought10? I have an ought5 i picked up a ceramic show that's like three hairs, but it kicks arse on tiny detail work!

BTW, is that the Moebius GG kit? I've been thinking about getting that and the Spidey kit they put out and building a nice little diorama if I ever get the free (chuckles) time.

Overall, ten out of ten stars, dude!!

sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Thanks bud! I use those cheap brushes from Wal-Mart...you know those big packs of like 20 different ones for five bucks...I just use the nylon and taklon ones and toss the rest. They usually last for two or three kits.

Yeah, I don't make any custom Megos for myself, but I paint a lot of custom heads and bodies for other folks here at the MM.

I'm a painter at heart, and my models are all I have of mine to share with you guys. Hope you don't mind.

Hey, I'd love to see some of your other model paint jobs. I'm wanting to pick up the Moebius Green Lantern kit as soon as one of the only two hobby shops in Louisville gets it in!

What kind of paints do you recommend for polystyrene? Primer?? Inquiring minds want to know!!!

Well, I knew it wasn't a Mego, just wondering if it was a plastic kit or a statue or a resin kit.

                            I think it's by Moebius.

It is the Moebius kit...I use Testors military grays in various shades for primer, then it's all bottle acrylics.
Delta Ceramcoat, Folk Art, and Americana. Testors dullcote to seal, and Folk Art water based gloss varnish.
