I think Renegade said he did in one post. I know his are in Mego scale while mine are 1:6 so at least we'll have some variation.
Yes, I have plans for the brains and am working the kinks out of "Shaggy" too. I eventually would like to have each notable character from the films, TV series and Terror series in my collection.

That's kind of what I'm hoping to do too... I'm mainly just looking to do the films and TV series though...If it's an easy custom based on the comic characters, I'd maybe make them if I have extra parts to do it, but film/TV apes come first...

What are your plans as far as humans from the APES? In other words, are you planning to make any beyond the astronauts (i.e. Hasslein, MacDonald, Armando, Breck, etc.)?

i also loved that story line,in fact as a kid with those pota mags,i went out and bought the two action ape-men ,because they look like the apes art work in that story,i had cornelius as alex, and tarzan as jason, and named all my soldier apes after those characters, like brutus .your customs are awsome, yes do shaggy and those weird mutants.

Renegade had a few "kitbashed" characters from a couple of the comic stories which I might end up making because the outfits for a couple of them are readily available thru CTVT... In some respects, Renegade will have more than I will as, at the moment, I have no interest in characters from the non-Terror magazine stories.
Humans? I have a custom Armando sculpt that someone over on my apes thread on the Sideshow forum made. I've see the 12"Lazenby Bond used as Breck and its ok, but not for me. I do have an old Soldiers of the World head that I think greatly resembles Hasslein and a Dragon one that is close to MacDonald in Conquest. My main push is simians as, afterall, it was Planet of the Apes. Humans come secondary unless I come across something that just makes me snap into a "Whoa, that would make a great ______!" moment. That being said, if I can get sculpts of William Smith and Marc Singer from Gladiators, they will be made immediately!
I am leaning towards this ape being my Warko from Terror. Jessica sent me this sculpt and it was a fave right out of the box. Painted up now and I am really liking it. His face is actually darker in real life and not so choclatey looking.

I've made I feel a pretty good Armando with goatee (not the proper clothes)and just finished an escape Armando that needs cast. I'm trying to deciede if I want my TERROR gorillas to have grey skin like the movies or brown like the TV show. I think the grey is way more menacing looking.

I was also considering what color the gorilla uniforms would be since Marvels colorized version of the 1st 2 movies had them in red instead of purple. Any thoughts IM?

These are my spacesuit TV show astronauts.........

I always found it interesting that Mego got Virdon's name wrong on his figure.
Notice on the cover of POTA #11 that the gorilla to the far left is in brown instead of red. Marvel colors left a lot to be desired and I think were a bigger influence to the animated serues, or perhaps vice versa, than the original properties were.
I have a number of gorillas that are in black vests and brown uniforms as that is what Sideshow issued them as. The Hot Toys gorillas reayy have me wishing I could put ALL of my gorillas in their proper colored outfits.
To answer your question, Renegade, for me personally I would go with the more purple color.
BTW, GREAT job on the ANSA versions of Pete and Alan!

                  Ironman,

I think the brown looks good... It gives it a TV series look...
