    The Spider-Man!!

I had this guy finished for a week or so, but got distracted by the Joker. Anyway, I really wanted a smaller teen looking Spidey, so the base is a Castaway, head and hands are from the Hasbro Iron Spidey, feet from a sigma 6 ninja guy. Its a early concept, with the web shooters still an external contraption, goggles for his bug eyes, and, yes, one of those Halloween spider rings for the emblem. I used WW2 canteens for the fluid tanks on the back of his belt, and cut beer can for the palm triggers. The head and stuff worked out proportion wise with a gawky teenager like Peter Parker.

    and a couple Marvel Team-ups.

futuristic? dang it, I was going for 50's sort of look. THat's why I used the army surplus belt and canteens for the web fluid.

Pretty neat but not quite sure why he reminds me of those Spider-Man figures from awhile back where he was scuba-diving, skateboarding, etc.

Naw,.. Johnny's lost in time.. He's also very old & Doesn't realize what he's looking at sometimes.

I do like the concept & design of the character.. But do think the Canteens should be a Different color,.. Red or Black, as well as his Belt, to better match your figure. imo Love the Head,,.. & the spider-web cape is too cool.

I think the early design concept works great. I would consider BKs suggestion of changing the tanks color, but otherwise I think you nailed the look you are going for.

Kind of like a first run at a prototype suit, similar to early ironman. Nice job.

Wasn't sure I liked this at first, but the more I look at it, the more it grows on me.

I showed it to my 9 year-old and he thought it was cool-looking and should have his own cartoon.

Hey, if he passes the 9 year-old test, he can't be all that bad!

Who can forget Soccer playing Spidey. Had a lime green shirt. Probably still sitting on the shelf at the now closed KB toy store.

Here's why I think it's cool.... A 17 yr old kid gets super spider powers and needs a costume --- first place you raid is your Uncle's old war equipment out in the garage. It just makes sense. I mean the kid was always broke, so Uncle Ben's canteens for the web solution is practicle. Well thought out!!! And one mighty fine custom!!! The spider ring/emblem is fantasic --- Great idea!!!
Don't be sorry. How would you know? You've been watching MTV all your life.

He looks "futuristic" in a post-apocolyptic way.

Not as ultra-modern a design as, say, Batman Beyond.

I think to make him look more "50s" you'd have to reinterpret the eyes
in a different way...maybe some kind of goggles....even the same shape...
but something that looked more removable.

He looks pretty hardcore either way.
