I think the Mego Museum should get together and buy ourselves a 3D printer!

We could make really cool stuff and then refuse to ship to Belgium!

Sorry Gorn Captain, I couldn't resist. They need to dumb down the technology for me to get in the game. It still takes a lot of time, patience, and skill to get good results. I'm in when they release the DUMY2000 that is voice activated.

          thanks guys.
We are pretty lucky that my job is what it is - good days and bad, I get to stuff like this before anyone else.
Next month will be my 1 yr with Makerbot…but only 8-9 months of REALLY using it because the first few months were horrible learning curve.

I still envision a library here of digital parts.
Customizers can come download their backer cards, their costume patterns, body parts, etc..etc..a whole new generation of customizers.
3D will never replace traditional skilled creations like clay sculpting - just look at that Invisible Man we just posted…not a single 3D printed part on him LOL

Sean did a quick cleanup of our digital files, and we are up to 3 gigs worth.
Guys - better have Joe add a terabyte or tie into a cloud service….cuz when it happens, our flood gates will open. :-)

The Ark in these pics came off my last spool of material. Changed over to a brand new spool, and wouldn't ya know it - problem after problem…I think I got a bad spool of PLA.
I cursed that thing all day for the first time in months.
I loaded an older partial spool and all my problems went away…
A few more years, and the bugs will be worked out and everyone ail have one of these in their home or a similar printer.

I've really given some thought to opening a Store in the Mego Mall for stuff like this, but build times are still kinda hard to cope with. I mean, ten hours on this Ark. If we charged by the hour, lol, we'd move nothing.

Stunning work. Every print is significantly better than the last project you made. Your Thor was pretty tough to top. That was perfection. The ark is jaw dropping.
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

That is astounding work. Love the idea of adding lighting.

                    The printer was busy today......

It takes a while, but it's worth it!

As long as it knows what a doohickey and a thingamabob are,I'd use one.

I drew some artwork for the side panels and Sean converted them to 3d.
Printed those panels and assembled everything.
Worked up the prototype today and tossed in and idol we built.

I am really, really impressed. Dad and the boy are wizards as far as I'm concerned. Sweet piece.
