Not sure if I follow all of that, but my own impulse is to do the Challenge title card group clash as is, but I'd also like to somehow get the Joker and Penguin and Myxie in somewhere...Mego didn't worry about the kind of things they worry about now. I can see them saying--"Hey, that clash picture is cool, let's use that, but make sure the other figures we've made end up in it somehow. And can you add that big yellow batcopter so we can sell some more of those?" Some of the stuff I like best about Mego is what they got wrong.

      Hmmm....calendars.

Scott, do you have the 1987? Super Powers calendar? Most of the art is Giordano, I think.

It features a few villians, as well as a great foe group shot, which includes Zod, Sivana, etc. Might be useful.

I have two stashed somewhere; LMK.

Re: Huedell's comments above--good points. About Merlyn the Archer, though, for Green Arrow: I know he's got that evil doppleganger thing going, but for corny panache, I vote for Clock King! I'm serious. (Jeez, GA has a worse Rogues' Gallery than Aquaman.)

I was going to mention CLOCK KING...I have no problem with
the character's corniness---I was going to mention SLINGSHOT and
BLACK ADAM, AUNT MINERVA and MR. MIND too
but I was trying to keep from being too "all over the place"
by naming multiple arch-villains for the same hero character---
we could be here all day---even with just keeping to the bigger villains
(What about Ocean Master? Nubia? Ra's Al Guhl?)

It sure is fun to wax on about though!

(BTW---Scott---your last post was quite on point---apologies
mine was a bit blurry---it's hard to articulate this kinda stuff
---for me anyway----good wishes on the project!)

Well, if you totally focused on LOD, fine, although nearly none of the villains were even made by Mego, so what's the point...? I figured it would make a nice overall villains hideout.

Along your lines, why would folks here display Spidey in with DC characters..? Most photos here have both Marvel and DC characters featured, unless it's a Baxter Building or Wayne Manor shot...

^ Not to speak for Scott, but I see his LOD playset as a companion piece to his HOJ playset, which was inspired by Mego's original HOJ playset. The Mego HOJ never cross-promoted the characters from rival companies (except for the goof with Supes and some of the Avengers in one of the view screens).

If you want Marvel characters thrown in the mix, the catch-all WGSH Dida Display is probably your best bet...not the LOD playset.

Got the drawing in from my friend at work. He nailed it. I'm psyched! Here's a taste, just adding color now. I think I'll do a shadow and highlight pass as well.

Yeah, I'll fix that part on his boot, I saw that.

Mike is going to take some shots of his LOD cells that I hope to incorporate into the side walls of the set. Thanks!

                        Here's 3 more.

                          Those look awesome
Capt. Kirk: "Is there anyone on this ship, who even remotely, looks like Satan?"
Mr. Spock: "I am not aware of anyone who fits that description, Captain"
Capt. Kirk: "No, Mr. Spock, I didn't think you would be"

That's pretty accurate to how he was drawn on the show. He sometimes did look a little...funky. Three quick things I noticed that are by no means criticizing this great art: Robin shouldn't have laces on his cape. Maybe he was interpreting the laces on his shirt? Wonder Woman's bracelets on SF are dark blue, and Sinestro should have light blue boots.
