The feet should swivel. Kevin Von Erich doesn't swivel at the feet, but he has a mid ankle swivel (which is even more anatomically bizarre and inaccurate) so the "foot swivel" is still technically there. Feet swivels are great for posing, so you can turn a foot to the the side more. Real feet have more or less of a ball joint and unless you're replicating that ball, yo need the swivel to help maintain balance in deeper stances.
Frankly, I'm happy with Type S.
The Mego female body is a mess and needs a full overhaul. Yvonne body looked a bit too articulated to me. I'd settle for a Type S but done with a slightly more shapely female form.

Is a new 8" body needed or wanted?

Remember that many armed goddess in the movie, Thief of Baghdad? That might be the woman you're looking for; although she doesn't have interchangeable breast plates.Leave a comment:

I really like the Kevin Von Erich wrestling figure and I think the Neca 7" figures have decent upper bodies, as long as the shoulders are not too far in.

I should have put "male" in the title. I'm not going to try and make a female body. Yvonne could have some "downgrade" arms and legs made with less articulation. Seems like that's what people would like.Leave a comment:

I really think there should be more readily available female bodies with better proportions. I've never been a huge fan of the original Mego female body. Yvonne is a very nice higher end body with great swappable parts and articulation, but i'd lean in towards something like Mattel's female body that's a little less articulated, but more visually appealing.Leave a comment:

It should pivot at the hip, not the knee or ankle, like a real leg does.Leave a comment:

The original Zica body is stil my favorite. And yes... DST bought it. They tried a few failed prototypes using it... I remember a Stalone Expendables figure was shown at Toy Fair... but nothing in a while. I wonder if they would be interesting in selling it back?Leave a comment:

It doesn't, however the leg should swivel out somewhere. The swivel ankle sort of gave the illusion of that. The figures look more powerful, as well as stand better, when you can turn the feet out... I think so anyway.Leave a comment:

I agree about the Zica body. I guess whoever bought the molds did so to end it's production forever. Such a strange thing. I wonder who bought it. Anybody know?I always liked the original Zica body for it's musculature, but not to much for the waist articulation. It had a much more solid feel to it, and I was sad when it was no longer available.
The body you describe sounds perfect, as long as the feet aren't floppy. That was the ONE thing I hated about the Zica Yvonne body.Leave a comment:

FTC needs to abandon the rubber bands and redo the female body or at least contract with Zica/Castaway to use their body.Leave a comment:

And while we are on the subject of bodies, what would we as customizers like to see in a newer, better female body?
No bands in the construction: Pegged construction throughout.
A better pelvis that allows for more leg flexibility.
No floppy feet.
Multiple hands.
A PROPERLY sized head!
Double jointed knees.
Swivel bicep and optional upgrades for arm and leg musculature.
Multiple sized bosoms. Small, medium and large.Leave a comment:
