Great news for customizers regarding the Avengers!

Dragon models is releasing 1:9 Mego scale plastic statues of all the Avengers similar to Kotobukiya.

These could be kitbashed super easy for their heads, hands, boots and accessories for anyone wanting to make Avengers movie figures.

Man, I hope they are in scale with Mego's...especially the heads!

    Thanks for posting this.

Looks promising. If they are in scale, they would look cool just standing among megoes

Very cool. I can definitely see a Retro-Mego coming from that if it sells well.

They are a bit pricey for a head (like $60 each).

I figured it would be about the same cost as paying someone to sculpt and paint a head, plus you can use the boots and such similar to NECA's POTA Taylor.

Hiring someone to sculpt a mego scale head is cost prohibitive.

not sure where you could get someone to sculpt and paint a head for 60 bucks.

Very true. I've worked with a real pro(who's also a good friend)doing the SeaGhot prototype. You're at least $500 "un-pained." I also talked to another Prototype Sculptor who is actively working in the business...and his quote was $28000

So what you're both saying is at $20 a head I'm seriously undercharging for my painting services.

No...we're talking about having a professional sculptor, sculpt a head from scratch. Painting is the easy part.

There's nothing "easy" about the Hot Toys quality paint jobs I produce.

Um, no--$15-$20 is pretty standard here for paints. We're discussing sculpts, too, and your estimate of custom sculpts is off.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

                            Whatever. This thread derailed quickly.
I'm sorry I even brought painting up. Why is it considered so much less work than sculpting? It's not, and I don't care how good somebody is...$28,000 for a single head sculpt is ridiculous.
What's the guy carving them out of unicorn horns?
