What color are you tring to achieve? I have tried but it is extremly washed out. You can paint the bodies with duplicolor vinyl and fabric paint. I have done this and it turns out great. No chipping or cracking. If you are going to use rit you hve to take the body apart, dye it and re-string.
I forgot, you can prime the body with plastic primer( you get this at home depot) let it dry and paint the body with any spray color. YOU HAVE TO USE PRIMER FOR PLASTIC. I tried this on a beater body I had before I used a new body. If you try to paint it with acrylic paint it does not wark as well. The only draw back with this method is the paint will crack and chip at the flex points. The vinyl paint flexes and gives.

I was just planning on dying a pair of doc mego arms red for my son.
Ritt needs boiling water and salt added to the dye, then the arms and legs will
dye within five minutes. The torso takes longer because it is ABS not PVC.
To chime in here, if you're good with dye, I was trying to bring a batman super powers cape back to life. Had it sit in teal dye for 45 minutes, it seemed like it wouldn't take or only slightly did. What did I do wrong? Used plenty of powder so it wasn't weak...
Edit:crap..the salt! lol
