Gray or Lvender

Um...I thought it was lavender as well. My licensed Batman radio had a purple chest for some reason....or at least I thought it did...even when I do Filmation cartoon repros I always add some purple to Bats' suit.

Yes, and I seem to remember that I had a Batman coloring book where the bodysuit was lavender on the cover. Even on the Mego box it has a lavender tone. Is this color styling/limitation, like highlighting Superman's black hair with blue?

Meule, you're wrong about so much, and here are some pictures of the costume that are purple. Not the navy you claim. So try not to call me an *** when you're in the wrong. It's funny you have such a problem with me. You're always being a dick to me for some reason...

If you think I'm being a dick to you, maybe that's because you always think you're right about everything and you always want to have the last say. If people don't agree with you you throw a fit and think the whole world is against you. Many people have tried to explain you need to relax a little and mellow out from time to time and in stead of taking that advice you cursed at them.
The suit was blue with maybe somewhat of a purple hue in certain light conditions, hence why it has faded to purple 40 years later. I'm right, you're wrong, end of the story.

I dunno about fading, but the cowl gloves and trunks have always looked a bit more purple than the cape to me.

Hmmmm.... lookin' at the pic it's a weird cool grey 30%. There's a type of fabric that sorta oscillates between lavender and grey, and I'm betting that's what they used. So technically it's lavender AND grey. (In the pic you can see it more purplish in the shadows, and more grey in the light.) The cowl DOES appear to have purple 60%/blue 80% parts, which would typically mush together into a shadowy dark blue.

....but I think for a figure your best bet would be dark blue/light grey. Those are the colours they wanted, and that's what most folks would have seen. (Until the Blu-ray release, anyhoo....) Chromabalance is tricky. (I've been having a similar problem with the scanner....)

The last pic with Molly does have a purple tint to the gloves and cowl. I suspect there were running changes to the suit, just like there were to the Robin suit.

Does anyone know anything about Picture taking ?
I know with today's picture taking ..., and Lighting..., Blue's can come up Purple ..., and Lots of Purples come up Blue ... , other colors can be all over the spectrum too.


I'd say that Photography probably wasn't 2 Damn advanced in 66 ..., I mean really How long was color Photo's and TV Show's and Movies even in color in 66 ? .

All them Blues and greys are different shades in all them pics ...
Movie making and colors with pictures, and photography are not and were not like they are today, in 66. Just my take.

If you sit there and watch all the episodes, there are changes to the suits, especially after the first season. The screen tests with West had a grey/blue suit. The first few actual episodes used different colors for the cape and cowl/gloves/trunks. I'm sure the production went thru quite a few batsuits and all were not the same color. I agree with Lonnie on this point partially. As for his maturity level and all the "wahhh's" not so much.
