Oh yeah by the way you could have asked me if the head was mine before you bash my work and say I sculpted nothing. That would be the polite thing to do..But good manners are wasted on you my friend.Comment

"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment

How you could sum that head up as "bad"...I can't imagine.
I also think Flatt's, while an admirable mix of HIS style and
past comicbook styles, suffers from, among other things,
not enough attention to the width of the facial area
as most other depictions of Sinestro tend to have a
tapered aspect to the facial width,
not to mention the paint job of the moustache/eyebrows
which, like many Flatts seem (no pun inteded) "flat".
Does he even scuplt that hair detail stuff first before painting 'em?
EDITED TO ADD: Flatt's SINESTRO chin actually DOES "jut out" nicely
and gives a somewhat tapered effect...but the face it juts out FROM
is too wide for my tastes.Last edited by huedell; Jan 24, '10, 7:33 PM."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. really man? that superman head is terrible, the green lantern head sucks and that sinestro looks like well just bad, i think im one of the only ones that has the balls to say it. they are, and yeah if you look at the two sinesro heads you can tell which one is better and its not th mattel one. Chris i was not bashing you, just making a point some of your heads are boosted, its a fact. You must try to generate happiness within yourself. Wow.
First, let me say Charlee and I go way back. Before the museum I think. We both started customizing around the same time. His were miles ahead of mine. Later on, we both did figures for ToyFare. I was sort of his replacement for a while after he left.
Charlee's customs were the first to really be seen in magazines. When I saw the detail in his stuff, I about lost my mind. That's where Charlee was better than everyone IMO. His capes were amazing. His Deadpool's accessories (ALL of the many he has) were all hand made. Charlee used LJN biceps. I had no idea they even existed. I loved the beefier arms and torsos. Charlee could envision a character and do that character beautifully. He also casted all of his stuff. My stuff are/were all one offs. Charlee did EVERYTHING on his figures. Not many folks do that, however it was amazing to see.
Charlee was the master then. He was the master for years. All who came after him were (unfairly) compared to him. It's nobody's fault. He was the first to gain noteriety. Many people are as good or better in their own ways now.
I have seen MANY, MANY custom figures and I love almost all of them. From the easiest kitbash to the most complex accessories and sculpts.
I envy anyone who can see an item in a store and know exactly what it could be used for. I have seen just brilliant uses of common dollar store items most folks would NEVER think of using for the purposes they get used for.
I have seen AMAZING sculpts from MANY folks. Charlee's may not be the best but again, his were the first in a sense. At the time, the facial details were incredible. Gloss finish on eyes and lips comes to mind.
Do I think Charlee's are the BEST sculpts? Honestly, no. Charlee's overall rendering of a figure is his strength. Do I like all of Charlee's customs? No. I never cared for his Batman much or his Wolverine. I DO love the rendering of each figure overall. Batman's capes. WOlverine having custom short legs...
I think all the customizers I've seen work from have certain strengths. Jessica has blown me away with her recent Apes sculpts. By far the most realistic I've seen. Captain Mego's Doom is an absolute thing of beauty. BK's Aparo-esque Batman is my favorite custom Batman to date. Jim Hampton's Oliver Queen. AWESOME! TBolt's unique style of customizing is always great. All DIFFERENT and ALL AWESOME and all have unique strengths.
For the record, I prefer the Matty Sinestro over CHarlee's. I am not thrilled with GL however. His mask looks funky. Too squarish for my liking but here's the thing...it's ALL opinion. If we all liked the same thing, it'd get awfully boring around here.Comment

Thanks guys I greatly apreceate the kind words guys..Worst part is I actually loved Charlees work. I just didnt understand why Anarchy feels the need to single me out to build up the legend of Charlee. Im actually one of the few that liked his sculpts.
I agree Raydeen the versitility of the customers no matter how they make figures is a great thing. I love seeing what people come up with and the different styles. I would be bored if everything was the same. kudos to all the customizers keep up the good work guys.Comment

Wow, you are amazing. Charlee's Sinestro is the one that sucks here, I have the testicles to say so. Seems to me you stirred up the same hornet's nest over on the old Russ board. If Charlee was so great he'd still be doing it and wouldn't have to have a goofy misspelled first name to be so cool. Chris is so far beyond what the great and powerful Charlie did.Check out my website dedicated to custom as well as classic and modern action figures! My Charlee Flatt Dedicated websiteComment
