I was standing in the breadline today thinking to myself, I haven't gotten my order yet.

Anybody else gotten anything lately, or has he sent just enough out to quiet people down?

WOW! And to think I almost order some stuff from him right before his store site vanished. Very glad I didn't cuz I don't take being mistreated or disrespected well AT ALL! And I won't even go into how I take being ripped off!
It's really a shame too when you think back to the beautiful items he had for sale and how professional it all seemed. It's really just such a shame.

Even now as I read people thanking him for getting thier orders a year later, are they really thanking him or just happy that they were not ripped off!

I thanked him for fulfilling his side of things and not ripping me off.

What amazes me here is how this simply boils down to a person who displays a horrible business ethic! This is not something new, he has always been late with orders, very bad at communicating with his cliental and when he did get around to contacting you he would point out how "this is not a job for me!"

You are receiving payment for an item that should be received in a timely manner, your lack of communication to your customers also shows a lack of respect for them. When money is received for an item you offer to the public it is business, plain and simple! Your not doing me a favor, you are being paid for your services!

I don't know Russ, I know of him! To you he might be a nice guy to me, nice guys don't treat people that way! A simple email goes a long way with me, but even then there is "understanding" and then there is taking advantage!

Is there something wrong with not taking any more orders for a while until you can catch up? I only received my order from Russ after putting him in his place! And calling him out on his email lies of shipping items that he never shipped!

It's nothing to do with life giving him new challenges and his keeping them private, or people being p****d off with waiting for stuff, it's about removing all means of communication, closing his website, custom forum and paypal account and not telling people what's going on with the stuff they've paid their hard earned money for.

I for one have never regarded him as the " King ", i've bought more heads from Austin.
The fact is, i bought from him because he had items that no one else offered and the quality of the castings were very good ( even if they were on the small side ) but i don't want to have to wait 2 months for stock items, wondering if they will turn up or not.

Russ has always been praised by many people here, who have even posted in this thread as the top dog in head casting. Not something I'm pulling out of my ***. The praise was always there. Now, life throws him a new challenge, and for his choice to keep his reasons private, he's the enemy? Sorry guys, I know people are ****ed for having to wait, but I seriously doubt anyone is standing in a breadline because their head didn't come in the mail.

As far as the smart *** comments to people in email, I know I'm guilty of having bad days and snapping at the wrong people my self. No one here is a saint.

EVERYONE falls on hard times now and again, and although we may not agree with how it's handled, he getting the orders out.

You have to appreciate the frustration of those affected, though. Being out cash and not hearing peep can be maddening. There are no saints, sinners, or martyrs here. It is what it is.

If Russ makes good, and he seems to be working that way, it'll all be good. Yeah, things were said, but chalk it up to frustration. When stuff gets resolved, harsh comments will soften. Gutters and strikes, Dude.

Here's hoping it works out well for all concerned, including Russ, and we can all get about the business of being friends again. In the grand scheme of things, there are Megos to be collected and beer to be consumed and LIFE IS SHORT (though the days be long).

Just to set the record straight, Russ is not working full time. He hasn't worked full-time since last Fall, and he only did that for a couple of months.

Russ always follows through. Usually the reason he has closed in the past is to get caught up on orders. I will guarantee that everyone who ordered from Russ will get them eventually. And as for the "KING" and "BEST THERE IS" statements...

I don't want to alienate anyone as there are alot of talented head casters on this and other boards. But, Russ' heads are the only ones that ever caused my ex-wife to stop in her tracks and ask "Holey crap! Somebody did this in like their garage or something? That's amazing!"

13 pages of Russ bashing, and a lot of it coming from his "friends"...

People make changes in their lives, and when Russ was on top of his game, he was doing the heads full time. Now, he's working again, and things have obviously changed for him. He always said he would make good on the old orders, and now it appears to be the case. Russ has never given anyone a reason to doubt him. He's always been an honest guy, and delivers, even if it takes longer then expected.
