I feel that way about $40 customs.

I mean, c'mon---we are grown men here---our customs are going on display.
(if they are not---then please disregard this post!)

These comments re: non-removable suits about "repairing a broken limb"
make some kind of logical sense---

but the comments about the non-removable not being "true to Mego" and
therefore not desired boggles my mind.

I'm hugely a "What would Mego do?" type collector...
---and as long as the suit LOOKS TO BE removable, that's
all that matters or makes sense to me....in REALITY it could be
glued on with superglue for all I care.

I sew them up. Mego 9 inch or whatever. It just makes for a tighter look, and eliminates the neck showing like on a vintage Captain America. As a kid that bugged me, now, its just part of Cap's charm.

I would have to Agree with you and lean towards a Removable Suit. In my opinion I think it would Make more sense, well at least to me anyways. I've actually been pondering this question. For the last week I've been toying with the idea of making a Custom. I'm still undecided at this time.

            Hmmmm....

I always TRY to make 'em removable.... mostly due to inertia. (My patterns are for removable outfits, even the ones I made from reduced real outfit patterns.) Sometimes it can't be done though.

I like removable suits on my Mego's but in the case of my Plastic Man I gave up the remove ability for functionality of the suit in putting a CTTV red suit on him backwards and lacing him up with black thread so to take him out would require me removing the thread so it is not a huge deal. but all of the rest of mine are made with the ability to remove.

                Unremovable.

The cloth aspects of a custom are just another part of the whole.
                Hey! Check out the pictures.

I prefer removable to keep it mego like ( besides I am always upgrading bodies) i'll probably buy a bunch of castaways for my customs to give them swivel arms. Besides there may come a time when I am tired of looking at my AIM lackey. AND I do play with them ( I have 2 broken fist fighters to prove it )
