I'm a happy camper right now! Caught the Lincoln Monsters "Deadstream" last night. If you like old school, low budget horror stuff at all, give it a watch and tell your friends!

Thought it would just be basic info and a reveal, followed by some laid-back chat and it was but they kept dropping interesting tidbits through the whole thing. (The next Toyventures mag has a premium that I want just as much as the figures! Not sure what that says about me...)

Quite pleased with the figures! Packaging allows dual presentation. Classic image on one side, smile-inducing new art on the other. The soft goods are a nice upgrade without straying too far from the low budget film wardrobe concept. Touches like a longer coat for Franky immediately made me think "Hammer homage" and moments later, that was confirmed! These guys get it!

Preorders open at noon Saturday, March 30, 2024. Pricing is just a wee touch higher than I was hoping for (my wallet thinks it's still the 1970's and I need extras to play wi.., er, I mean, customize), but all things considered, understandable. All involved in this venture have offered very reasonable pricing and value in past projects and I think that continues here. I'm eager to see what comes of this and hope it's a rousing success for them!

My thanks to everyone that contributes to the embarrassment of riches that Mego scale fans have to choose from these days! Never thought it would happen again, yet here we are! Happy days!

I enjoyed it and hope to preorder in time. Considering how cranky and "picky" I am, I was pleased with the thought that went into these and their aesthetic--and relieved that Drac is a lighter shade than Frank.

Ideally, I'd like reimaginings of the classic Lincoln figures and Victim, though I wouldn't pass up others if they're in the vein of Teenage Bog Monster. I really like that figure.

                        Kudos to the team.

I grabbed the special deal for the 2. I like the feel of these, one foot firmly in the old Lincoln/AHI figures, and one in the more detailed modern aesthetic. The figures seem to balance the two things well. I like the longer coat on Franky, giving him a hint of Hammer. And while I know a lot of monster purists always seem to prefer Franky in an all black suit, I personally prefer some color added simply because it adds some interest to the figure as a toy (yes, I do like the way Universal often gives Franky toys a green jacket, as otherwise you have him, drac and the Phantom all in black suits. Not hugely toyetic). And that would be the case here with Drac right beside him, though the Count does break up the black nicely with splashes of color. Again, nice and toyetic, which works well here. As a big fan of glowing parts (a lot of that likely comes from the Aurora glow models I had as a kid), I like the addition of the glow hands. I have a Lincoln Wolfman head on a Mego wolfy body with a yellow shirt and green pants (Telco Motionette Wolfy colors), so these two will join him in a nice display. I like the idea of adding new monsters with the same feel to the line, but I really do want to make sure we get the originls all re-done. Well, except for the girl victim, probably; with the trouble Aurora had with that concept in their Monster Scenes line, I think that might not be a great marketing move. But maybe a lady monster hunter in a very 70's outfit might serve instead?

I just realized I hadn't chimed in here at the Museum about these. It has been a blast working on the artwork and packaging design for these figures. Brian and I had lots of fun conversations along the way about how to plus the designs, and get that "lost" drive-in feel he, Jason and Frank were going for. The figures turned out even better than I could have hoped for. There's something about the designs that just seems to distill that old Halloweeny vibe, mixed in with low-budget film horror. Super psyched to get these myself, and very proud and stoked (or is that staked?) to have contributed to this awesome project!
