Svengoolie signs new merch deal, NECA figure a possibility

Hey Svengoolie fans, if you're like me and disappointed at how prohibitively expensive his action figures have been, MeTV announced recently that Sven signed a new merch deal that includes mugs, shirts, and more importantly, NECA doing a figure in the future! I'm hoping it'll be a Retro Cloth figure to go with all of our Megos.

That's good to hear but I never thought of Neca as a lower cost figure option.

Neca is as expensive as FTC if not higher.

On a side note maybe we will be able to get Svenclaus from NECA.

On the secondary market the FTC figures are nuts.

The NECA figures will be easier to track down, through more online retailers, and even brick-and-mortar stores.

I will say, my wife got me the Sven figure with the coffin, and it's really nice.

Just the other day on eBay I saw one of those out of package up for auction, and it ended at $150!

What I will like is it will not have "real" hair. I would use the NECA figure for my ReMego Svengoolie On The Road segments.

Fingers crossed for an 8 inch retro style. I've come to admire Neca's 8 inch stuff.

I can totally see them doing a Toony Horror type figure and some of the smaller figures first. I would imagine if those do well an 8 inch Mego style figure is probable. The coffin set is their best one. The GITD shirt one is good. The original set I just didnt see it in time darn it.

FTC wasn't to blame necessarily for the high prices of the Sven figures, but they were ridiculous even at retail.

METV wanted a ridiculous like $20 shipping charge for any Sven figures. Buy 5 figures, $20 shipping per figure! Buy 1? $20 shipping!

It's the only reason I never picked any up.

So while the secondary market is insane, the figures were exorbitantly priced with the shipping.

NECA's figures are almost guaranteed to be better. But hopefully they aren't exclusive to the METV store. Otherwise it'll be the same issue.

Yeah I hope for 8 inch too, bummed to miss out on the previous one. Had to bug my American cousin to get my Svengoolie T-shirt, 2022 and still only US orders. I'm looking to get some NECA's myself eventually, the Quint is sweet.

@monitor_ep: Sculpted hair from NECA would be a plus, not saying stranded is bad but it's extra work to maintain.

That is absolutely crazy pricing on the shipping-I can see why you opted not to buy.

I went with the black top hat from Penguin. Much better fit.
