Speaking for myself: I need ALL the versions of Jason and Leatherface!! I feel like they improve with every figure. I can't get enough of Part VI Jason.

For me, the right number of those particular characters is zero BTW so I'm not taking it personal, just curious. To each their own, I own dozens of Frankenstein and I'd buy more, so I wouldn't be comfortable saying people don't need another of their favourite character.

I feel the same way about FTC's Batman '66 line, I have no use for 4 Batmen, 3 jokers, etc.

Well, Jason, Freddy and Leatherface ARE favorite characters! But I feel I have enough with these Neca 8" ones. I had some of the McFarlanes, and sold them off after getting the Necas, kind of the ultimate upgrade for me. A favorite character in my favorite scale.

These days, I pick one great figure depicting that particular character, and leave it at that. But If someone loves more, that's cool. I was using the generic "how many do you need" (how many do I need), not pointing the finger at collectors that enjoy multiple versions.

Wow! I never really thought of it that way! I too have seen characters which I thought had been done to death as I gaze over at my 75 Human Wolfman figures. I now stand corrected! You can NEVER have to much of a good thing!
