ZICA Doing Captain Action

The sculpts are nice but I don't really get giving AJ a Captain Action uniform. I understand from a cost perspective the need to use the same sculpt. But there had to be other paint options to make the figure more unique looking. Even something simple like a green camo jumpsuit and brown boots to give it a bit of a military look or Adventure Team homage.

Craig, did you decide against the more menacing headsculpt for Captain Evil you'd mentioned when you first showed the concept?

Hey Jeff. The head sculpt that's being used for Captain Evil was actually intended to be used for Captain Action. I gave it to Boss Fight when they first started on the figure but for whatever reason they didn't use it and made their own.

Action Jackson 1:18 Scale

Just wanted to share a sneak peek image of the Action Jackson figure that will be included as part of the Captain Action Kickstarter. This is a painted resin sample so it's a little rough around the edges. Much more to be revealed soon!

Were these ever completed? Are you still planning on launching the campaign this year or are you going to hold off until after the holiday shopping season?

They're almost complete. There were issues with the material used on some of the parts for the painted samples which resulted in the parts having to be recast. I was told just today that the figures should be finished by tomorrow.

Yes, the plan now is to launch the Kickstarter after the Christmas shopping season which will hopefully improve the odds of it being successfully funded. Also, launching it in 2016 will coincide with 50th anniversary of Captain Action.

The bags make them a little hard to analyze all the details... but they definitely look good. I think this is going to play well both with the Captain Action and the RAH fans.

As well as us Microman fans.

The sculpts for the sample figures sort remind me of Takara's Microman figures, which impresses me. Blank figures for customization would be a great idea.

Any chance you'll offer "blank" type figures in solid colors? Maybe like light grey or royal blue?

It's possible but nothing like that is planned for now.
