Resin would be better, but vinyl is fine, really.
As long as the face is not too distinctive (like, "hey, that's Wolverine!"), it's all good. You can just as well work your magic on vinyl. I've sculpted features on top of old Mego heads.

Generic heads will be available but they'll be factory produced and made of vinyl just like original MEGO heads. I'm not familiar with all of the customizing techniques but I'm guessing a resin head would be better suited for what you're wanting to do.

I was wondering: what are the chances of getting "generic head sculpts"?
Like a very "standard" looking face (could actually be a bald head), on to which a customizer can sculpt his specific details (like hair, a helmet,...)

Would save us the effort of having to remove stuff that is not right for the figure we're aiming for.
I know, it's asking a lot, but a "blank canvas" figure is what we're looking for.

The body looks great. didn't realize it was taller than the vintage ones (although that's fine).

I actually like that, in the comics villains and heroes weren't the same height either

That is one of MY major complaints.

Especially the hands on the female figures. They can't hold anything!!!

Plus, they're also puny and wimpy looking.
