My set arrived today and after building the other two figures (Office Rogers and Super Soldier) I have to say I like this set quite well. The Super Soldier gear is quite impressive and fits him perfectly. I placed that head and outfit on a Mego original type 2 body. Plus that transparent shield is rocking (The best accessory in the set). The paint apps and tailoring here are excellent. Officer Rogers is equally nice. I like the fact the hat is molded on and not something you have to fuss with. It looks perfect on him and the outfit is also another winner. The retro War-time Cap is the surprise here. I didn't think I was going to care much for that one, but the modifications on that original Mego mold are actually quite good and the paint apps, especially on the eyes, really sell the look as being something quite different and special to that period. It works. I also like that they used a similar design on the back of his vintage shield that allows Cap to hold it just like the 12 inch Mego Cap does. It's definitely a worthwhile addition to the series and with Thinkgeek having it on sale right now, I wouldn't pass it up.

Haven't got my set yet, but I'm in Canada so it could take awhile, but I guess I can't complain about free Canadian shipping!

Just some thoughts:

I agree the single stitch star is kinda lame, but based on my experiences with the original set a wee bit of fabric glue (cheap at Walmart) fixes this issue easily.

I also agree a removable cowl might have been a cool idea, but after the issues with Wolverine I doubt DST will ever go down that road again.

I don't want to start any sort of debate here because again if not for the free shipping I dunno if I'd have bought this set. But based on the posted photos I have no regrets.

Easy pass. The single stitched dangle star, tight outfit, just reaffirms my avoidance of characters that have already been produced.
The shields are neat and the headsculpts are good, just not enough there for the price.

Yeah, a removable cowl for the 1940's version would have been great, and yeah, the star again hanging on by a thread (literally) is lame.

One other thing - the Steve Rogers Super-Soldier costume is really tight, likely due to the "leather" shoulder straps. Maybe you can see the star is kinda stretched out; it's stretched pretty bad in the back, too. I tried it on an S-Type body and then a Zica body, before finally trying it on an FTC body. The FTC body worked best, or least-worst, anyway.

this set is rather nice ,terribly expensive ,still on the fence about it ,but i am sure ill get one .would have been cooler if he had a removible
cowl ,would like to have seen the 40s cap with red hands and cuffs done like green arrow except it red .#2000 sets ,thats far more then Daredevil for
a variant which was #1500

Not familiar with clear shield other than 70s TV Reb Brown Cap had as mentioned. Also looks like 90s energy shield Cap temporarily had when he lost his original disc shield.

Now we need Reb Brown Cap Set with his motorcycle helmet and visor, clear shield and 2 different Cap costumes from pilot and 2nd 70s Cap TV Movies!
