Khan Update

I got mine today, he is awesome. Can't bring myself to open it yet though. Maybe I'll buy another for my kid so I can play with it too. Always wanted Kahn when I was a kid. Needed someone tough who Kirk could kick the crap out of.

Mine arrived last night from Planet X, he looks great. This is actually the first EMCE trek figure where I could open his clamshell without cutting it with scissors, so he has been opened and re-sealed already.

OK... I gotta ask, so here has gotten out their ST TOS DVDs and watched Space Seed with Khan in it??
I did yesterday....

Looks really good and spot on, I just don't why they decided to go with the open chested shirt.

As you can see from the prototype, we wanted to have the jumpsuit snap closer to
the neck, not AV squad close, but not disco boy low.

I think my guy in China got confused with the Wrath of Khan open chest look and
told his workers to put the snap at mid-torso.

I agree with Dr.Mego, he's right about Khan's jumpsuit snap closer to
the neck seen on TOS Star Trek TV series, not the movie one "the Wrath of Khan".

Received mine today. If nobody told me this was a new item I'd swear it was vintage-- that's how true-to-Mego it is.

The head is fantastic, if a touch small compared to the classic Trek figures (casting/molding issue?). I could nitpick about the catchlights in the eyes (he possesses a not-inappropriate glassy stare), but the gold paint detail on the hair-fastener is an unexpected bonus, very cleanly applied. Good call to use the Trek-boot leg.



So has anyone experimented with repositioning the front closure? It looks like it could be moved up a good half-inch without compromising the tailoring.
