Marvel Comics started in 1961 with Fantastic Four and 2016 will be Marvel's 55th anniversary. I wish Fantastic 4 could be represented in DST Mego sets, but that might be a challenge with FOX and Marvel Studios battling over the F4 rights. Recent F4 bombed so who knows? Still need Iron Man and Hulk. Villians like Green Goblin and Dr Doom. Plenty of Marvel females! How does FOX owning X-Men movie rights affect more Mego X-Men?

With no FF comic on the stands, and a poorly received movie out, it might not be the best anniversary to celebrate with product. Besides, we've revealed our tentative plans for 2016 already. They may change, but the four slots will likely not be FF. -
If you look at the history of the Fantastic Four as a set of figures, very few lines ever complete them. To my knowledge only Mego has released a complete set. Famous Covers only got to Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Girl. Hasbro did a Mr. Fantastic with rubber arms. Even the Marvel ICONS only offered the Torch and a Johnny Storm variant. Outside of the movie figures from the first two films, the comic interpretations have largely been misfires. Very sad if not ironic given their celebrated history in comics.Comment

Marvel Legends from both Toy Biz and Hasbro have released various versions of the team. All of them have flaws, but they are full teams, I believe in both traditional black and blue and the white and blue (but I think Invisible Woman's is wearing the sleeveless costume, which is too bad). Hasbro even released a She-Hulk in FF uniform.
DST has released a full FF team in minimate form too, with various versions.
Getting a full FF team is not common, but they still beat getting a full, in-scale classic Silver Age Teen Titans line-up. I think only DC Direct has done it and that was with their Pocket Heroes line.Comment

With Cap:Civil War coming out next year, they aren't doing an Iron Man, but they are doing Spidey 2099? DP has a movie, Daredevil and Punisher will be on Netflix. Spidey 2099 was in two episodes of Ultimate Spider-Man, and that's it. Mystifying choices here.Comment

Iron Man is probably a bit of a challenge, execution-wise. A modern Iron Man may not work in a cloth costume, and I'm not sure how much tooling is possible on one figure in this line. Not that we'll never make him, but I think for now we're happy to be making characters that have never been made.Comment

When you say he'll have other Spider-Man outfits, do you mean other variations of Spider-Man 2099 or other versions of Spider-Man in general? If it is the latter, how does that square with the license mandate that each set be one character (secret ID, costume variations but still the same character, in this case Miguel O'Hara)? Does this mean we could see a set containing O'Hara, Parker, and Morales? Wouldn't they be considered three separate characters?Comment
