Doc, if KISS will give EMCE a licensing nod; perhaps I could muster up a couple grand to get the project started.

(can ya tell I'm a KISS fan?)

Since there are plenty of other companies out there fulfilling the 12 inch
market - which prefer fashion dolls and military men - I will stick with my
first love - 8 inch of poseable fury!

Now if I could get the KISS license - that may be worth it. Does anyone
      have $200,000 to get started?
If I win the lottery. I'll definitely invest Doc!

I'm a huge Kiss fan as well and would buy these in heartbeat,I love my original set.

Shrinking these down to 8" would be awesome too!!

I like to see Zod, Jor-el and Luthor on the 8"s. But I would like to see a new sculpt on Luthor's head.

Yes...I definately like seeing the Mego 12", shrunk down to 8" scale. Did You know that Mego did a 12" Doctor Strange Head...that ended up being a Disco/Fashion Doll? Poor Doctor Strange.

Can't say I'm crazy about the head sculpt. Plus he looks kind of skinny.

                Mego Kirk wins.

                  Same here.

The price point for 12" figures does keep me away. I would love to get those Sideshow POTA figures but they are to pricey for me to get involved with now especially since I missed the first 10 or so.

That is a 19" or 1/4 scale Captain Kirk from DST, not 12 inch.

Diamond Select Toys is making a line of 1/4 poseable figures to compete with
                    Sideshow's 18 inch statues.

12 inch Jordache "Dr. Strange" head

I bought one of those Jordache "Dr. Strange" figures, and upon close inspection, realized that it is the 12 inch not-Christopher Reeve Superman
head with a painted on mustache.

The 12 inch Mego Superman had two heads - Christopher Reeve and
a more comic-book version head - which I think was made for Europe
(see part 5-7 of the Tomart's Mego articles for the details).

If I get a chance, I will try to make a mold of the "Dr.Strange" head
                      and post the pics.

I'm a 12" guy. Play Scale is hard wired into me, I guess. All the arguments for 8" are really good, especially the one about scale vehicles. The 8 inchers have some very cool rides...

Must be all those years of GI Joe... And let's not forget Mego's Fighting Yank, a very cool 12" figure.

Oh yeah, I still have and want my 12" Joes. At least they are reasonably priced.

I'm kinda surprised the idea of 12" Megos got such a mixed reaction. I'm a big fan of Sideshow and Hot Toys, so I guess I "figured" there'd be more support for it. The thought of 12" WGSH -- done just the way Mego would have done them back in the day -- makes me giddy and light-headed. (It may have something to do with the fact that my first Mego was a 12" Spider-man!)

I totally get the argument for 8" scale though. If you go to the Sideshow boards you can see tons of 1/6 stuff that fans have made -- vehicles and dioramas and such -- and that stuff is just way too big. I have a Sideshow Jabba with throne and it's huge, and it came in not one but two boxes. They were the size of small refrigerators. (I've made a vow that no sixth-scale item I own will be any bigger than that.) 8" scale is as big as you should go for playsets and vehicles.

But on their own, my 12" collection looks pretty snazzy! Wish Mego could join the bunch...

I love 12" Mego figures. However, I'm really happy with Doc's current 8" lines and don't see any need for him to branch out... yet!

My first love is the 8" figures. I remember being disappointed (and not wanting to even buy) the ST:TMP figures because they wouldn't go with the stuff I already had. The other thing that always bothered me was that Kirk was in his Admiral's uniform rather than Captain like the movie ended, so if EMCE ever dresses the 8" Kirk up for TMP - Please, blue uniform all the way!
                                It's all good!
