Let's assume you were buying these parts from let's say CTVT and others accomplished members....
    Repro Figure-25.00
    2 Shields- 10.00
    1 cap uniform-15.00
    2 Vinyl heads-20.00
    1 helmut- 5.00
    2 pair of boots-10.00
    Steve shirt and pants-10.00
    3 sets of hands-15.00

That would be 110.00 worth of pretty generic parts.
This is a set catered to Captain America. Go find the parts for less than 80.00, and tell me where.
I was about to do this myself, AND SO TRUE!
I can Understand some people are not interested in all 3 figures nor do the wish to buy all 3 at 1 shot, but as I have stated Numerous times in other posts, the Figures from FTC $24.99 EACH these sets are $69... I have yet to see them for $80, then buy 2 bodies from doc at $5 each that's $79 for 3 Marvel Figures comes to $26.66 each only $1.66 more than FTC, And your getting better quality figures, Those of you switching out your FTC Figures to other bodies your price just went form $24.99 to $29.99 or $32.99 depending where your getting your bodies from... Only complaint I see here is to Mattel for wanting them produced this way

    Nope it's the final product.

I hate that star too! Wolverine's removable cowl distracted me from how messy it looks

I am glad that they are not attempting Star Wars in this format because I don't think a removable cowl Darth Vader with 2 anakin heads and a huge ugly
removable cowl would make it in to my collection

And wise guy, Wolverine takes his mask off a lot. We thought making his second head a removable mask head was fitting with the character, and with what Mego would have done.

We felt the Cap route we went with was preferable to something that people might not like and that was non-remediable. But sorry people don't like it.

If you read the booklet that came with Spidey, the Mego customization aspect (both as adults and kids) was something we really wanted to play up with these sets. If you don't like something, you can change it.

Is this the final product ? It would be cool if they could give us an extra star decal like FTC is doing with WGH Batman. I have decided to buy 2 Capt.America sets
but also feel at the 80.00 price I should'nt have to fix these. If it was'nt for my spidey sets turning out so nice (compared to those horrible first pix) I would have held off
from buying. Hopefully Thor will look good in finished product but Wolverine has 2 ugly Logan heads and a weird cowl .Since Wolverine is advertised as WOLVERINE
and not as Logan or Weapon -X should'nt he have 2 painted heads and 1 secet identity head as all the other sets have (per liscence restriction )
I hope we don't get 2 Tony Stark heads and 1 painted Ironman head or removable cowl Daredevil

I do understand your dismay, just not the extent of it--it is able to be remedied, unlike some other concerns with this line, like paints/sculpts.

Cap is my favorite set thus far, too.
at 80 bucks plus shipping, I don't want to "remedy" anything.

These are under a Marvel license.
