Matty Retro at least lives on in Robot Chicken

I think the Matty Retro figures would have done very well rebranded in Robot Chicken packaging given the DC Comics Specials.

Great strip, and great idea, I still think the design on these was a lot of fun.

The designs were wonderful and I would credit the mattel Retro Action line for resurrecting Mego to the general market. I don't count Famous Covers at all. And everything else out there including the FTC stuff owes a nod to this line in my opinion.

The designs were great, Mattel is the only one at fault with the lines demise.

The good thing about prototypes is that everyone could see the difference between how we intended the boots and costumes to look, and how they came out
in production. Those fat clunky boots were due to Mattel using PVC when we specified LDPE (regular milk bottle plastic) and the card art was god awful.
