Interesting detail, is that most people here seem to be interested in Parker and Circle Suit, and that the one with all the extras doesn't get so much love.
I guess most of us are still old school.
Personally, if the release were a Circle Suit in a repro Mego box, I'd pay $35-40 and be happy with that.

All of the major complaints here are directly shot at the conditions of the license. The price, the lack of 3 bodies, everything for the most part made it an all or nothing deal. It is what it is and you can either go with it or pass on it. It was simply the only way it was gonna happen. As far as the questions on quality, I would say compare the figures that EMCE had control on and look at what was released. Monsters, Trek, BBP's offerings, etc. There's really not any history to question that prior to the figures release. You can not use the Mattel offerings as a reference. They are 2 completely different situations. No offering is going to please 100% of the market. It just doesn't happen. Some may not like sculpts, some may not like the uniform choice, etc. Either way the Marvels are coming and thanks to Emce and DST for making it happen.Leave a comment:

You can't get a minty vintage circle suit Spidey for less than $80.Leave a comment:

This will be better than Captain Action, since I know each figure will be tooled to actually work.
The only Captain Action figure that works for me is Thor, well I didn't buy Iron Man. Spiderman and
Captain America's arms keep falling off that is no fun.
Only thing I would say is release these two at a time. Spiderman by himself will be a tease.
I guess it got me wondering how Round 2 Corp was able to snag the Marvel license for Captain Action and sell the basic costumes at mass retail for $20 and deluxe costumes for $30 (IIRC the original price on them) to be used on their 12-inch figures, a scale that Hasbro has produced in the past. I am pretty sure the license was acquired after the Disney purchase of Marvel and that Hasbro already had the license. If they sold the license to Round 2 Corp, which is not a large company, why hold EMCE and DST hostage at an $80 price point? Especially since they are specialty market?Leave a comment:

Might have been a better idea to introduce Thor or Iron Man with that price point. When you can get a minty vintage Mego Spidey and nice repro box for far less than the replica, it really makes it hard to justify the coin.Leave a comment:

Glad this is happening. It's overdue.
But not glad about the price --it's outrageous. If the licensor said that's what the price had to be, they're wrong. Sorry guys, I love the idea, but the price is way, way out of line.Leave a comment:

The high price point is going to make a lot of potential customers not buy it. Hopefully enough people will be interested in it to support the line continuing. I'm hoping that the high price point will allow different body types. It would be cool if Spidey was svelte, Wolverine a runt, Thor stocky and so on.
I'm still glad good ole Doc got the Marvel Mego back in circulation. I'm still waitin' for the FF and wishing for Dr Strange. Must get Thor once it comes out. I'll wait and see how Cap turns out. I passed on CA even back as a kid cuz it didn't look proper to me.Leave a comment:

Congrats. its a great looking set, love the peter parker, and I think the price is fair seeing amok is offering them for $69. Dont know if this has been answered already but what type of body will the figure be on?....... standard Doc Mego body, His new bandless body, or the old Zica body DST acquired?

As long as the sets include an exact repro of an original mego I will be buying a set.Leave a comment:

I'm a free market person and logic always wins. If they sell all 3000 pieces at 80.00 each, guess what... the price was right. If they don't...they adapt or die.Leave a comment:
