DST Spider-Man Limited Edition Collector Set

For the price point this figure seems to be low in quality, the peter outfit looks awkward/weird on the figure, the pants look to big and not made for the figure, the newer version of spider man looks so bad, like something i made or some child made from spare parts. Hell the famous cover spiderman looked better, the circle spiderman figure looks good. But is this worth 80 bucks? Nope. I sure wish companies would stop ripping buyers off by giving us inferior products and just give us a good quality item like the zica buck rogers, the dc figures inc. And of course hot toys which set the standards for perfection. -
It's an amazing feat that these will get made, and $80 is a decent price for all the stuff you're getting, but separate figures would have been easier for me, and four sets per year will be more than enough.Leave a comment:

ill be in for these ,they look great,it would have been nice to see these released like FTC is doing with the DC figures,EMCE/diamond have
done a fantastic job with star trek, apes, monsters, the only problem is they take forever between releases,it may be that the waves are a year
apart or so .well beggers cant be whiners, thank you doctor,EMCE/Diamond.your all doing what we dream of -bringing back the 70s-mego-syle.Leave a comment:

I understand the nostalgia-based excitement for retro, 8" Marvel figures, but for $80, I would have much preferred a 4-figure set or something instead of one retro-figure that doesn't fill my heart with as much joy as the original anyway and sells like Captain Action with a bunch of spare pieces and costumes. I mean, Parker looks dead on accurate to the comic, but doesn't feel Mego to me - and that other Spider-Man has no appeal to me. It reminds me of the one Hasbro released in that Mego-like series back around 2005, except more awkward and unnecessary. I really enjoyed Mattel's Retro-Action Series and am even interested in some of Figure Toy Company's releases - despite some disappointing choices in production - but this DST idea seems almost desperate, and it won't even really round anything out. I'd rather wait for another way and not sink ~$700 into a terminal, 8-figure collection.Leave a comment:

Never say never. But, from what I understand, Hasbro has the action figure license locked down pretty tight. Besides I'm not sure SW works best in the Mego style because too many characters have to have unique body molds.Leave a comment:

The $80 price tag stopped my heart at first too, but the more I looked around at DC Direct's 13 inch line and Sideshow's 12 inch Star Wars, I realized that
the price wasn't a deal breaker, just a little harder.
Sorry I haven't been around here much lately, but I couldn't post much knowing what I knew. The urge to spill the beans was too strong.Leave a comment:

My thought on the $80.00 is...
If all I want is Circle Suit Spidey, I get 2 more Doc Mego bodies, and put Peter Parker and the modern Spider-Man on Ebay. I'm sure there will be lots of loose stuff available, the longer they are out there.Leave a comment:

I really wouldn't put it past Disney to release Star Wars as ReMego. I also could see them releasing Disney characters using the child size figures.Leave a comment:
