I couldn't be happier for Paul, what a great thing for him and collectors alike. At that price point I won't be buying but that's a personal choice for all. Love the concept!

$80 is certainly a fair amount of coin for that set, yet I just spent $60 on the Batman/Robin two-pack, so the extra $20 won't change my life. I may not get all of these at that price, but I'm thrilled to have the option to choose. But Paul is a great guy, and I want to support this kind of effort.

The price point is off, since the FTC Heroes would add up to $74.97 FOR 3 COMPLETE FIGURES not one split into 3. If they wanted $80.00 at least give us 3 bodies. i CAN GET ALL 4 BATMAN 66 REMEGOS FOR 19 DOLLARS MORE.

If folks didn't have to spring for two extra bodies the price tage would be much easier to swallow.

A Fantastic Four 4-pack, would be cool even at a $100 or $110 price point. The FF doesn't really lend itself to secret identities.

However, a first appearance and Modern Thing heads would be cool as a single figure with maybe a trench coat, glasses and hat, as would a Mr. fantastic with regular arms and legs and maybe some stretchable parts. Invisible Woman with an extra clear figure. Johnny Storm might fit the regular format better with a flame head, Johnny head, flame suit, FF suit and maybe civilian cloths.

The only pre-order link I've seen:
Action Figures, NECA, Hasbro, Hot Toys, Funko, Monstarz, Star Wars, Batman, Godzilla, King Kong, Spider-Man, X-Men

By the way, I'm loving this! These will be the first modern figures I've bought!

I agree 500%. I don't think any of the Mego style toys that we've seen would have happened without Dr Mego's efforts. I still remember how excited I was to see his ad in that antique toy newspaper years ago!

What I'm hoping for is that these sets will get split up here among members. Somebody will want Peter Parker, somebody else will want Circle Suit Spidey. And I'm sure someone will want the extra hands to customize a Mego Spidey.
That way, we all get what we want, at a price we're comfortable with.
It's great news, and I can't wait to get a Wolverine!

My first thought is that this is a $50 set, not $80.

Second, even though I won't get it, I am thrilled it's being made it's a signal to the market that more Mego-replicas can sell.

Give me the Spidey repro by itself in the box for $25 and I'm all over this.

Hey, I'm happy for Paul and the diehard fans willing to pay $80 for this. I probably wouldn't complain if it was 3 full bodies instead of one. Marvel may dictate the pricepoint, but they aren't dictating the profit margin. This is a ripoff, pure and simple. And I can't believe some people are comparing this to aftermarket customizer costs instead of realistic cheap factory labor costs. The two just aren't in the same ballpark! There just simply isn't enough in this package to justify $80. Would you have bought the DST Bride of Frankenstein, etc, if it was just a head and outfit on a card for $25+? The body is a huge part of the value which is sorely lacking in this line.

Gonna throw my 2 cents in, even though it's neither here nor there, and no one really gives a crap. I never liked the Captain Action approach to selling separate suits, whether that was what they did in the '60s or not. A collector is going to have to buy extra bodies for each suit, which is exactly how I see this. Granted, the bodies will be considerably cheaper than buying an extra Captain Action for each suit you bought, but it still adds to an already high price. If they're going for collectors it should be pretty easy to figure out that we aren't going to be swapping outfits on these, especially not at that price. We will be buying two more bodies for the extra costumes. Simply not a fan of this idea. And it's obvious these aren't for kids, so the "playability" is sort of irrelevant.
I'll be checking out what the extra suits looks like for each set and make my decision based on that, but for now I can say the Spidey extras don't do it for me.
